When there is an active scheduled event the scheduling server sends a response to the media encoders to stream a media stream to an origin server. When the scheduling server determines that an active scheduled event is no longer active, the scheduling server sends a response to the media encoders to stop streaming. The origin server can send the media stream or a modified version of the media stream to a plurality of viewing devices or archive the media stream for later playback.
