However, when missing media packets are identified, the base station can queue non-contiguous sequence numbers for the missing media packets for requesting re-transmission from the recording device in a single message. The base station can request such re-transmission during regular report intervals providing statistics and/or control information, and/or in between such intervals in application-specific messages, subject to a guard time.
