Accordingly, the system serves to reduce the size of the working blockchain thereby making it easier to store the blockchain, and further serves to increase the speed of queries to interrogate the current state of the blockchain. By reducing the size of the working blockchain, the present invention seeks to extend the utility of large blockchains by segregating and archiving historical or older transactions recorded in the blockchain.
