To overcome this limitation, one or more serial-to-Internet Protocol (IP) gateways are deployed in the PSAP to: (a) receive the incident data from the emergency communication handling systems and encapsulate the incident data in its raw form in IP packets, and (b) transmit the IP packets to the remote processing system.
