It does so via a control circuit, containing a temperature sensor and a switching circuit, connected between the power supply and the load. While the power supply remains relatively cool, the system allows power to flow to the load. When the power supply exceeds a certain threshold, however, the system disconnects the power supply from the load connection and connects it to the return line, bypassing the load and stopping the flow of electricity.
