A receiver of the radar system can produce an IF signal by mixing a received signal with a local oscillator. The receiver can also mix the local oscillator with a transmit signal provided directly by the transmitter to the receiver to produce a control signal. Using the control signal to generate a nulling signal, the receiver can maintain or substantially maintain phase coherence between the nulling signal and the transmit signal. As a result, in certain embodiments, more precise nulling can occur, resulting in greater receiver sensitivity.
