The sequence of received signals is received; a modified sequence is calculated by replacing some of the received signals by their complex conjugate values; the modified sequence is correlated with each one of the number of known orthogonal sequences to obtain a correlation result for each of the known sequences; and the sequence of received signals is identified as the known sequence having the largest correlation result.
