An optical receiver (300) extracts intensity information of a frequency component of the periodic fluctuation from the received optical signal, and calculates a wavelength dispersion value of the optical transmission line on the basis of the extracted intensity information. For this reason, it is possible to measure the wavelength dispersion value of the optical transmission line while operating the optical communication system.
