A governing one of the parameters on which the different parameter depends is determined based at least in part upon a parameter reference. The computing device calculates a checksum for the governing parameter based at least in part upon a corresponding value of the governing parameter. Instructions are generated to calculate a checksum for the governing parameter currently configured in the node.
