Legal claims defining the scope of protection, as filed with the USPTO.
1. A method of processing data in a receiver, the method comprising: receiving a broadcast signal including signaling data that include an emergency alert table, wherein the emergency alert table comprises message identification information for identifying an emergency alert message and information for access of a rich media content that is referenced in the emergency alert message and wherein the rich media content includes additional information related to the emergency alert message; parsing the signaling data contained in the broadcast signal, wherein the signaling data are carried in Internet Protocol (IP) packets with a well-known IP address; acquiring the emergency alert table from the parsed signaling data; and acquiring the rich media content from the broadcast signal based on the information in the acquired emergency alert table.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the information for access of the rich media content includes access information of the rich media content and size information of the rich media content.
3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the information for access of the rich media content further includes content type information of the rich media content.
4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the additional information corresponds to at least one of an image, an audio, and a video related to the emergency alert message.
5. A receiver for processing data, the receiver comprising: a receiving unit to receive a broadcast signal including signaling data that include an emergency alert table, wherein the emergency alert table comprises message identification information for identifying an emergency alert message and information for access of a rich media content that is referenced in the emergency alert message and wherein the rich media content includes additional information related to the emergency alert message; and a processor to: parse the signaling data contained in the broadcast signal, wherein the signaling data are carried in Internet Protocol (IP) packets with a well-known IP address, acquire the emergency alert table from the parsed signaling data, and acquire the rich media content from the broadcast signal based on the information in the acquired emergency alert table.
6. The receiver of claim 5 , wherein the information for access of the rich media content includes access information of the rich media content and size information of the rich media content.
7. The receiver of claim 6 , wherein the information for access of the rich media content further includes content type information of the rich media content.
8. The receiver of claim 5 , wherein the additional information corresponds to at least one of an image, an audio, and a video related to the emergency alert message.
