1. A system for facilitating management of media content delivery, comprising: a first user's media interaction application executing on a first user's media delivery device and configured to collect the first user's media interaction data comprising the first user's user interactions with media content, said media content obtained from a third-party content provider and delivered by a stand-alone media delivery application executing on the first user's media delivery device; a second user's remote media management application executing on a second user's portable electronic device and configured to monitor the first user's media interaction data and further configured to let the second user issue at least one of a set of media management instructions to the first user's media interaction application via secure communications; a communications broker executing on a first network server and configured to provide the secure communications between the first user's media interaction application and the second user's remote media management application, said second user's remote media management application authorized to engage in said secure communications by the first user entering a connect code provided by the communications broker; and a media interaction analysis application executing on a second network server and configured (1) to receive the first user's media interaction data from the first user's media interaction application, (2) to transform the first user's media interaction data into summary media interaction data, and (3) to provide the summary media interaction data to the second user's remote media management application; wherein the first user's media interaction application is further configured to transmit the first user's media interaction data to the second user's remote media management application via the communications broker using the secure communications, wherein the second user's remote media management application is further configured to issue the media management instructions to the first user's media interaction application via the communications broker using the secure communications, wherein the media interaction analysis application is further configured to receive the first user's media interaction data via the communications broker, wherein said connect code is issued by the second user's remote media interaction application in response to the first user initiating a connection request to the second user's remote media interaction application from the first user's media management application via the communications broker, and after the communications broker supplies the connect code to the second user's remote media interaction application for subsequent issuance to the first user's media management application, and wherein the first user comprises a first user type and further comprises one or more unique first users of the first user type, the second user comprises a second user type and further comprises one or more unique second users of the second user type, and the first user type is different from the second user type.
2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the first network server and the second network server are identical.
3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the media management instructions issued by the remote media management application include an instruction to display a message on the first user's media delivery device via the media interaction application.
4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the media management instructions issued by the remote media management application include at least one instruction affecting delivery of the media content by the media delivery application on the first user's media delivery device.
5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the media management instructions issued by the remote media management application include an instruction to selectively block at least some of the media content delivered to the first user's media delivery device.
6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the media management instructions issued by the remote media management application include an instruction defining a period of time when media content may be delivered by the first user's media delivery device.
7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the first user's media interaction data comprises information identifying the media content currently being delivered on the first user's media delivery device.
8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the first user's media interaction data comprises a list of media content previously delivered on the first user's media delivery device.
9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the first user's media interaction data comprises a performance result based on the tracked first user's interactions with media content.
10. A method for managing media content delivery, comprising: executing a media interaction application on a first user's media delivery device, the media interaction application configured to collect the first user's media interaction data comprising the first user's user interactions with media content, said media content obtained from a third-party content provider and delivered by a stand-alone media delivery application executing on the first user's media delivery device; executing a remote media management application on a second user's portable electronic device, the remote media management application configured to monitor the first user's media interaction data and further configured to let the second user issue at least one of a set of media management instructions to the first user's media interaction application via secure communications; executing a communications broker on a first network server, the communications broker configured to provide the secure communications between the first user's media interaction application and the second user's remote media management application, said second user's remote media management application authorized to engage in said secure communications by the first user entering a connect code provided by the communications broker; and executing a media interaction analysis application on a second network server, the media interaction analysis application configured (1) to receive the first user's media interaction data from the first user's media interaction application, (2) to transform the first user's media interaction data into summary media interaction data, and (3) to provide the summary media interaction data to the second user's remote media management application; wherein the first user's media interaction application is further configured to transmit the first user's media interaction data to the second user's remote media management application via the communications broker using the secure communications, wherein the second user's remote media management application is further configured to issue the media management instructions to the first user's media interaction application via the communications broker using the secure communications, wherein the media interaction analysis application is further configured to receive the first user's media interaction data via the communications broker, wherein said connect code is issued by the second user's remote media interaction application in response to the first user initiating a connection request to the second user's remote media interaction application from the first user's media management application via the communications broker, and after the communications broker supplies the connect code to the second user's remote media interaction application for subsequent issuance to the first user's media management application, and wherein the first user comprises a first user type and further comprises one or more unique first users of the first user type, the second user comprises a second user type and further comprises one or more unique second users of the second user type, and the first user type is different from the second user type.
11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the media management instructions issued by the remote media management application include an instruction to display a message on the first user's media delivery device via the media interaction application.
12. The method of claim 10 , wherein the media management instructions issued by the remote media management application include at least one instruction affecting delivery of the media content by the media delivery application on the first user's media delivery device.
13. The method of claim 10 , wherein the media management instructions issued by the remote media management application include an instruction to selectively block at least some of the media content delivered to the first user's media delivery device.
14. The method of claim 10 , wherein the media management instructions issued by the remote media management application include an instruction defining a period of time when media content may be delivered by the first user's media delivery device.
15. The method of claim 10 , wherein the first user's media interaction data comprises information identifying the media content currently being delivered on the first user's media delivery device.
16. The method of claim 10 , wherein the first user's media interaction data comprises a list of media content previously delivered on the first user's media delivery device.
17. The method of claim 16 , wherein the first user's media interaction data comprises a performance result based on the tracked first user's interactions with media content.
18. A non-transitory program storage device readable by a computer, tangibly embodying a program of instructions executable by at least the computer to perform at least: executing a media interaction application on a first user's media delivery device, the media interaction application configured to collect the first user's media interaction data comprising the first user's user interactions with media content, said media content obtained from a third-party content provider and delivered by a stand-alone media delivery application executing on the first user's media delivery device; executing a remote media management application on a second user's portable electronic device, the remote media management application configured to monitor the first user's media interaction data and further configured to let the second user issue at least one of a set of media management instructions to the first user's media interaction application via secure communications; executing a communications broker on a first network server, the communications broker configured to provide the secure communications between the first user's media interaction application and the second user's remote media management application, said second user's remote media management application authorized to engage in said secure communications by the first user entering a connect code provided by the communications broker; and executing a media interaction analysis application on a second network server, the media interaction analysis application configured (1) to receive the first user's media interaction data from the first user's media interaction application, (2) to transform the first user's media interaction data into summary media interaction data, and (3) to provide the summary media interaction data to the second user's remote media management application; wherein the first user's media interaction application is further configured to transmit the first user's media interaction data to the second user's remote media management application via the communications broker using the secure communications, wherein the second user's remote media management application is further configured to issue the media management instructions to the first user's media interaction application via the communications broker using the secure communications, wherein the media interaction analysis application is further configured to receive the first user's media interaction data via the communications broker, wherein said connect code is issued by the second user's remote media interaction application in response to the first user initiating a connection request to the second user's remote media interaction application from the first user's media management application via the communications broker, and after the communications broker supplies the connect code to the second user's remote media interaction application for subsequent issuance to the first user's media management application, and wherein the first user comprises a first user type and further comprises one or more unique first users of the first user type, the second user comprises a second user type and further comprises one or more unique second users of the second user type, and the first user type is different from the second user type.
19. The method of claim 17 , wherein the first user's media interaction data comprises a list of media content previously delivered on the first user's media delivery device.
20. The method of claim 19 , wherein the first user's media interaction data comprises a performance result based on the tracked first user's interactions with media content.
