The method of claim 8, wherein the one or more variable inputs to the logical rule comprise a user identifier for a user accessing an application that utilizes the display template, a role for the user accessing the application that utilizes the display template, a data value associated with the application that utilizes the display template, a current user interface type running the application that utilizes the display template, a permission set associated with the application that utilizes the display template, or a combination thereof.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein the display template comprises information associated with a data record stored in a database system, a homepage for a third-party application, a set of supported global actions, a user-specific homepage, an email application pane, or a combination thereof.
