Legal claims defining the scope of protection, as filed with the USPTO.
3. The method of claim 1, wherein the DCI indicates to the UE to use the CP extension indicated in the DCI to create a gap of a specific duration from an end of a preceding downlink transmission by a base station to a beginning of the uplink transmission on the uplink control channel resource partition.
4. The method of claim 3, wherein the specific duration of the gap is 25 μs or 16 μs, and wherein the UE performs LBT type 2.
5. The method of claim 3, wherein a duration of the CP extension is calculated by the UE based on a time alignment (TA) value and a subcarrier spacing (SCS).
6. The method of claim 5, wherein the duration of the CP extension does not exceed one OFDM symbol duration.
8. The method of claim 1, wherein the DCI indicates that LBT type 1 is to be used in association with the uplink control channel resource partition by absence of an indication, in the DCI, that LBT type 2 is to be used in association with the uplink control channel resource partition.
10. The method of claim 9, wherein the each uplink control channel resource partition of the plurality of uplink control channel resource partitions is on a respective different component carrier (CC) in the unlicensed spectrum.
11. The method of claim 1, wherein the DCI is received in a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) on a first component carrier (CC) in the unlicensed spectrum, wherein the DCI further indicates a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) on the first CC, and wherein the uplink control channel resource partition includes a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) on a second CC in the unlicensed spectrum.
12. The method of claim 1, wherein the LBT type indicated in the DCI indicates that no LBT is to be used in association with the uplink control channel resource partition, and wherein the transmitting the UCI on the uplink control channel resource partition shares a channel occupancy time of a base station with a gap of no more than a specific duration from an end of a preceding downlink transmission by the base station.
15. The UE of claim 13, wherein the DCI indicates to the UE to use the CP extension indicated in the DCI to create a gap of a specific duration from an end of a preceding downlink transmission by a base station to a beginning of the uplink transmission on the uplink control channel resource partition.
16. The UE of claim 15, wherein the specific duration of the gap is 25 μs or 16 μs, and the UE is configured to perform LBT type 2.
17. The UE of claim 15, wherein the UE is to calculate a duration of the CP extension based on a time alignment (TA) value and a subcarrier spacing (SCS).
18. The UE of claim 17, wherein the duration of the CP extension does not exceed one OFDM symbol duration.
20. The UE of claim 13, wherein the DCI indicates that LBT type 1 is to be used in association with the uplink control channel resource partition by absence of an indication, in the DCI, that LBT type 2 is to be used in association with the uplink control channel resource partition.
22. The UE of claim 21, wherein the each uplink control channel resource partition of the plurality of uplink control channel resource partitions is on a respective different component carrier (CC) in the unlicensed spectrum.
