5. The method of claim 4, the first type of storage service being a block storage service and the second type of storage service being an object storage service.

6. The method of claim 1, the first representation of the media object comprising a high-resolution version of a video clip in a first file and the second representation of the media object comprising a lower-resolution version of the video clip in a second file.

The method of claim 1, the first representation of the media object comprising a first video clip of a scene and the second representation of the media object comprising a second video clip of the scene, the second video clip comprising one or more of a different camera location or a different camera angle than the first video clip.

8. The method of claim 1, the first mount and the second mount being mounted in a same logical drive of the local file system.

9. The method of claim 1, the first location and the second location being separate locations in a same storage medium.

10. The method of claim 1 wherein the first representation of the media object and the second representation of the media object both have a same run time.

11. The method of claim 1, the first type of storage service being a block storage service and the second type of storage service being an object storage service.

15. The system of claim 12, the software add-on being a visually integrated add-on component for the media editing application.

19. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 16, the local file system comprising a Portable Operating System Interface (POSIX) file system and at least one of the first type of storage service and the second type of storage service being a non-POSIX storage service.

20. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 19, the first type of storage service being a block storage service and the second type of storage service being an object storage service.

21. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 16, the first mount and the second mount being mounted in a same logical drive of the local file system.
