The method of claim 7, wherein the first BGP message further comprises a next-hop network address of the first PE device, and wherein the method further comprises generating a second MAC forwarding entry comprising the MAC address and a second outbound interface identifier identifying an outbound interface pointing to the first PE device.
11. The method of claim 10, wherein the second BGP message further comprises instruction information instructing the first PE device to refrain from sending, to the second PE device, the first VLAN identifier and a MAC/IP advertisement route that arrives at the MAC address.
14. The first PE device of claim 13, wherein the second BGP message further comprises instruction information instructing the first PE device to refrain from sending, to the second PE device, the first VLAN identifier and a MAC/IP advertisement route that arrives at the MAC address.

The second PE device of claim 15, wherein the first BGP message further comprises a next-hop network address of the first PE device, and wherein the processor is further configured to execute the instructions to cause the second PE device to generate a second MAC forwarding entry comprising the MAC address and a second outbound interface identifier identifying an outbound interface pointing to the first PE device.
19. The second PE device of claim 18, wherein the second BGP message further comprises instruction information instructing the first PE device to refrain from sending, to the second PE device, the first VLAN identifier and a MAC/IP advertisement route that arrives at the MAC address.
20. The second PE device of claim 15, wherein the first VLAN identifier comprises a service VLAN (S-VLAN) identifier or a customer VLAN (C-VLAN) identifier.
