Legal claims defining the scope of protection, as filed with the USPTO.
2. The automated process of claim 1 wherein the current state of the DSL connection describes available bandwidth on the DSL connection.
3. The automated process of claim 2 wherein at least some of the received user data traffic is redirected to the 5G wireless connection when the available bandwidth on the DSL connection meets a threshold level.
4. The automated process of claim 2 wherein at least some of the received user data traffic is retransmitted on the 5G wireless connection only when the available bandwidth on the DSL connection meets a threshold level, and otherwise retransmitting the received user data traffic on the DSL connection.
5. The automated process of claim 1 wherein the current state of the DSL connection describes available bandwidth on the DSL connection and wherein the current state of the 5G wireless connection describes available bandwidth on the 5G wireless connection.
6. The automated process of claim 5 wherein the selecting further comprises determining which of the DSL connection and the 5G wireless connection has more available bandwidth, and retransmitting the received user data traffic on the connection having more available bandwidth if the received user data traffic is determined not to be latency sensitive.
7. The automated process of claim 1 wherein the selecting comprises determining if the received user data traffic is bandwidth sensitive, and if so, determining which of the DSL connection and the 5G wireless connection has sufficient available bandwidth, and wherein the redirecting comprises retransmitting the received user data traffic on the connection having available bandwidth.
8. The automated process of claim 7 wherein the selecting further comprises determining if the received user data traffic is related to an existing session established over one of the DSL connection and the 5G wireless connection, and if so, the redirecting comprises retransmitting the received user data traffic via the existing session.
9. The automated process of claim 1 wherein evaluating the current state of the DSL connection and evaluating the current state of the 5G wireless connection comprises transmitting test packets via each of the DSL connection and the 5G wireless connection.
10. The automated process of claim 1 wherein evaluating the current state of the DSL connection and evaluating the current state of the 5G wireless connection comprises receiving network status data via the DSL connection, wherein the network status data describes then-current conditions of the DSL connection and the 5G wireless connection.
11. The automated process of claim 1 further comprising determining if the received user data traffic is emergency traffic, and if so, the redirecting comprises immediately retransmitting the emergency traffic via the DSL connection.
12. The automated process of claim 1 further comprising determining if the DSL connection is available, and if not, the redirecting comprises immediately retransmitting the received user data traffic on the 5G connection.
13. The automated process of claim 1 wherein the recognizing low latency traffic further comprises identifying that the user data traffic is at least one selected from the group of video game traffic, video call traffic, voice call traffic, remote control application traffic, web browsing traffic, and messaging traffic.
15. The router device of claim 14 wherein at least some of the received user data traffic is retransmitted on the 5G wireless connection only when available bandwidth on the DSL connection meets a threshold level.
16. The router device of claim 14 wherein the selecting further comprises determining if the received user data traffic is related to an existing session established over one of the DSL connection and the 5G wireless connection, and if so, the redirecting comprises retransmitting the received user data traffic via the existing session.
17. The router device of claim 14 wherein the automated process further comprises determining if the received user data traffic is emergency traffic, and if so, the redirecting comprises immediately retransmitting the emergency traffic via the DSL connection.
18. The router device of claim 14 wherein the automated process further comprises determining if the DSL connection is available, and if not, the redirecting comprises immediately retransmitting the received user data traffic on the 5G connection.
