Legal claims defining the scope of protection, as filed with the USPTO.
2. The system of claim 1, further comprising a slice manager operable to provide a real-time, autonomous control loop for the network slice.
3. The system of claim 1, wherein at least one MEC layer includes at least one MEC host.
4. The system of claim 1, wherein the MEC server supports multi-tenancy for applications.
5. The system of claim 1, wherein the actionable data from the wireless network resource optimization application provides for coexistence of multiple services based on service needs and coexistence policies.
6. The system of claim 1, wherein the at least one monitoring sensor is operable to provide an optimization of resource assignment, wherein the at least one monitoring sensor is operable to send the optimization of resource assignment to the MEC layer, and wherein the at least one monitoring sensor does not include an interface with a radio unit (RU), distributed unit (DU), or centralized unit (CU) of the ORAN.
7. The system of claim 1, wherein multiple instances of the at least one application are configured to run concurrently in the MEC layer.
8. The system of claim 1, further comprising a MEC service registry operable to provide registration, service discovery, availability notifications, authentication, and authorization for services on the MEC layer.
9. The system of claim 1, further comprising user equipment (UE), wherein the UE includes an application instance of the at least one application from a first MEC host, wherein the application instance of the at least one application is operable to be transferred to a second MEC host upon a change of location of the UE without disruption of service of the at least one application to the UE.
10. The system of claim 9, wherein a service state of the at least one application is operable to be transferred from the first MEC host to the second MEC host.
11. The system of claim 9, wherein the application instance of the at least one application is operable to be transferred to a cloud service provider.
13. The system of claim 12, wherein the MEC layer provides traffic steering and policy control information for applications based on information exchanged between the NEF and the MEC layer.
14. The system of claim 12, wherein the NEF is operable to provide network information to the MEC layer, wherein the network information includes mobility information and radio resource information.
15. The system of claim 12, wherein the NEF is operable to predict at least one location of user equipment (UE).
16. The system of claim 12, wherein a MEC host of the MEC layer is deployed at an edge of the RAN.
17. The system of claim 12, wherein the NEF is operable to provide capability information for the core network or services operable to be provided by the core network.
19. The system of claim 18, further comprising a machine learning (ML) engine in communication with the wireless network resource optimization application operable to provide predictions about the electromagnetic environment.
20. The system of claim 18, wherein the network slice further includes a network exposure function (NEF) operable to accessed via a third-party cloud service to manage MEC operations via a control interface.
