Legal claims defining the scope of protection, as filed with the USPTO.

2

2. The data link communication system of claim 1, wherein the routing control logic is configured to execute the data forwarding command, defined by the conditional logic database, to synchronize the second on-vehicle system with the first on-vehicle system.

3

3. The data link communication system of claim 1, wherein the routing control logic executes a process to generate at least part of the second set of data in response to receiving the first set of data.

4

4. The data link communication system of claim 3, wherein the process comprises an application hosted on the data link communication system.

5

5. The data link communication system of claim 1, wherein the second set of data is output to an application hosted on the data link communication system.

6

6. The data link communication system of claim 1, wherein the data forwarding command is defined in terms of a first parameter that indicates a content of the second set of data and a second parameter that indicates a destination that identifies the second on-vehicle system which will receive the second set of data indicated by the first parameter.

7

7. The data link communication system of claim 1, wherein the routing control logic is configured to perform deep packet inspection on the first set of data to determine a first datatype of the first set of data and executes the data forwarding command based on the first datatype.

8

8. The data link communication system of claim 1, wherein the routing control logic is configured to read a message identifier from the first set of data to determine a first datatype of the first set of data and execute the data forwarding command based on the first datatype.

9

9. The data link communication system of claim 1, wherein the routing control logic is configured to format the second set of data based on a format defined by the conditional logic database.

10

10. The data link communication system of claim 1, wherein the vehicle comprises one of an aircraft, spacecraft, watercraft, train, truck, or automobile.

11

11. The data link communication system of claim 1, wherein the definitions of one or more datatypes and the definition for the data forwarding command in the conditional logic database are reconfigurable.

13

13. The method of claim 12, further comprising executing, with the routing control logic, the data forwarding command defined by the onboard conditional logic database to synchronize the second on-vehicle system with the first on-vehicle system.

14

14. The method of claim 12, further comprising executing, with the routing control logic, a process applied to the first set of data to generate at least part of the second set of data.

15

15. The method of claim 12, further comprising formatting, with the routing control logic, the second set of data based on a format defined by the onboard conditional logic database.
