Legal claims defining the scope of protection, as filed with the USPTO.
1. A method for performing wireless communication by a first device, the method comprising: receiving, from a second device, a message including location information of the second device and information related to a first identifier of the second device; receiving, from the second device, control information including information related to a second identifier of the second device; obtaining distance information between the first device and the second device based on location information of the first device and the location information of the second device; and determining whether or not the first device is within a minimum required communication range (MCR) of the second device, based on the MCR of a service related to the control information and the distance information, wherein the location information of the second device included in the message is determined to be available for obtaining the distance information, based on (i) a time interval between a first time when the message is transmitted by the second device and a second time when the control information is transmitted by the second device being less than a threshold, and (ii) the information related to the first identifier of the second device included in the message being same as the information related to the second identifier of the second device included in the control information.
2. The method of claim 1, wherein the message is transmitted periodically by the second device.
3. The method of claim 2, wherein the message is at least one of a cooperative awareness message (CAM) or a basic safety message (BSM).
4. The method of claim 1, wherein the service related to the SCI control information is a service transmitted by the second device through a physical shared channel scheduled by the control information.
5. The method of claim 1, further comprising: receiving information regarding MCR related to each service from the second device.
6. The method of claim 5, further comprising: determining the MCR of the service related to the control information based on the information regarding the MCR.
7. The method of claim 1, wherein MCR related to each service is pre-defined for the first device and the second device.
8. The method of claim 1, further comprising: receiving, from the second device, the service through a physical shared channel scheduled by the control information.
9. The method of claim 8, further comprising: transmitting, to the second device, hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for the service, based on determining that the first device is within the MCR of the second device.
10. The method of claim 8, wherein the first device does not transmit hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for the service to the second device, based on determining that the first device is outside the MCR of the second device.
11. The method of claim 1, wherein the first device does not perform decoding for the service, based on determining that the first device is outside the MCR of the second device.
12. The method of claim 11, wherein the first device does not transmit hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for the service to the second device.
13. A first device adapted to perform wireless communication, the first device comprising: at least one transceiver; at least one processor; and at least one memory connected to the at least one processor and storing instructions that, based on being executed, cause the at least one processor to perform operations comprising: receiving, from a second device, a message including location information of the second device and information related to a first identifier of the second device; receiving, from the second device, control information including information related to the second identifier of the second device; obtaining distance information between the first device and the second device based on location information of the first device and the location information of the second device; and determining whether or not the first device is within a minimum required communication range (MCR) of the second device, based on the MCR of a service related to the control information and the distance information, wherein the location information of the second device included in the message is determined to be available for obtaining the distance information, based on (i) a time interval between a first time when the message is transmitted by the second device and a second time when the control information is transmitted by the second device being less than a threshold, and (ii) the information related to the first identifier of the second device included in the message being same as the information related to the second identifier of the second device included in the control information.
14. A processing device adapted to control a first device to perform wireless communication, the processing device comprising: at least one processor; and at least one memory connected to the at least one processor and storing instructions that, based on being executed, cause the at least one processor to perform operations comprising: receiving, from a second device, a message including location information of the second device and information related to a first identifier of the second device; receiving, from the second device, control information including information related to a second identifier of the second device; obtaining distance information between the first device and the second device based on location information of the first device and the location information of the second device; and determining whether or not the first device is within a minimum required communication range (MCR) of the second device, based on the MCR of a service related to the control information and the distance information, wherein the location information of the second device included in the message is determined to be available for obtaining the distance information, based on (i) a time interval between a first time when the message is transmitted by the second device and a second time when the control information is transmitted by the second device being less than a threshold, and (ii) the information related to the first identifier of the second device included in the message being same as the information related to the second identifier of the second device included in the control information.
