2. The tracking system of claim 1, wherein at least one of the plurality of second wireless transmitters is in wireless signal communication with the first wireless transmitter.
3. The tracking system of claim 2, wherein the wireless signal communication between the at least one of the plurality of second wireless transmitters and the first wireless transmitter is through at least one of a wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi)® wireless communication technology, a low power Wi-Fi® wireless communication technology, a Long Range Radio Frequency (LRRF) wireless communication technology or a Bluetooth® Low Energy wireless communication technology.
4. The tracking system of claim 1, wherein the communication chain is through at least one of a wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi)® wireless communication technology, a low power Wi-Fi® wireless communication technology, a Long Range Radio Frequency (LRRF) wireless communication technology or a Bluetooth® Low Energy wireless communication technology.
5. The tracking system of claim 1, wherein the wireless signal communication between the central processing unit and at least one of the first wireless transmitter, the plurality of second wireless transmitters or the device is configured in a hub-spoke manner.
6. The tracking system of claim 1, wherein the communication chain comprises overlapping wireless signal ranges.
7. The tracking system of claim 6, wherein the communication chain comprises direct wireless signal communication between at least two of the plurality of second wireless transmitters.
8. The tracking system of claim 1, whereupon a determination by the tracking system that the device is not within a wireless signal communication range of at least one of the first wireless transmitter or any of the plurality of second wireless transmitters, the tracking system further generates an alert that is delivered to at least one of the device, the first wireless transmitter, at least one of the plurality of second wireless transmitters or a wirelessly connected computing device.
9. The tracking system of claim 1, wherein the wireless signal communication between the device and the central processing unit is communicated over at least one of the Bluetooth® Low Energy wireless communication technology, a wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi®) wireless communication technology, a Long Range Radio Frequency (LRRF) wireless communication technology or a low power Wi-Fi® wireless communication technology when the device is not within a wireless signal communication range of the first wireless transmitter or any of the plurality of second wireless transmitters.
10. The tracking system of claim 1, wherein the wireless signal communication between the device and the first wireless transmitter or between the device and the at least one of the plurality of second wireless transmitters provides device location tracking information.
11. The tracking system of claim 10, wherein the tracking system generates an alert if the device location tracking information indicates that the device is beyond a predetermined area that is defined by at least one of an overlap of wireless signal communication ranges of the plurality of second wireless transmitters or a wireless signal communication range defined by the first wireless transmitter.
12. The tracking system of claim 11, wherein the predetermined area corresponds to a wireless signal communication range that defines a geofence.
13. The tracking system of claim 10, wherein the device location tracking information is wirelessly transmitted therefrom after having first been at least partially processed on the device.
14. The tracking system of claim 1, wherein at least one of the (i) first wireless transmitter or (ii) plurality of second wireless transmitters is mobile.
15. The tracking system of claim 14, wherein the mobile wireless transmitter is a smartphone.
16. The tracking system of claim 1, wherein the device further comprises a user-engageable button that is configured to cooperate with at least one of the central processing unit, processor, antenna, device identifier, first wireless transmitter or plurality of second wireless transmitters to transmit an alert to at least one of the central processing unit or a wirelessly connected computing device.
17. The tracking system of claim 1, wherein the communication chain operates over a Bluetooth® Low Energy wireless communication technology.
18. The tracking system of claim 1, wherein the at least one of a plurality of other wireless communication technologies comprises a radio-frequency identification (RFID) wireless communication technology, a Long Range Radio Frequency (LRRF) wireless communication technology, a near-field communications (NFC) wireless communication technology, a Zigbee® wireless communication technology, a Z-Wave® wireless communication technology, a Wi-Gig wireless communication technology, a Global System for Media Communications (GSM) wireless communication technology, a Code-division multiple access (CDMA) wireless communication technology, a general packet radio service (GPRS) wireless communication technology, a 3G wireless communication technology, a 4G wireless communication technology, a Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMax®) wireless communication technology, a long term evolution (LTE®) wireless communication technology, a wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi®) wireless communication technology, a low power Wi-Fi® wireless communication technology, a Wireless Universal Serial Bus (USB) communication technology, an indoor positioning system (IPS) wireless communication technology, infrared and a satellite communication technology.
