Digital Imaging System for Assays in Well Plates, Gels and Blots

1. A method for imaging assays, comprising: maintaining the assays as samples in a multi-sample plate having at least a first of the samples in a space recessed below an upper surface of the plate; positioning the plate under a telecentric lens suitable for imaging said multi-sample plate; collecting light from said first sample with said telecentric lens; transmitting said light through said telecentric lens to an image detection device; and generating an image of said multi-sample plate from an output of said image detection device.

2. A method of claim 1 , wherein said image detection device is a CCD camera.

3. A method for imaging assays in a multi-sample plate, comprising: positioning the plate under a telecentric lens suitable for imaging said multi-sample plate; collecting light from said plate with said telecentric lens; transmitting said light through said telecentric lens to an image detection device; and generating an image of said multi-sample plate from an output of said image detection device; wherein said image detection device is a CCD camera; wherein the samples in said plate are contained in wells.

A method for imaging assays in a multi-sample plate, comprising: positioning the plate under a telecentric lens suitable for imaging said multi-sample plate; collecting light from said plate with said telecentric lens; transmitting said light through said telecentric lens to an image detection device; and generating an image of said multi-sample plate from an output of said image detection device; wherein the samples in said plate are contained in wells.
