Global Recovery for Time of Day Synchronization

1. A method for synchronizing time of day information between one communication adapters and at least one other communication adapter, said method comprising the steps of: designating said one adapter as a master; periodically broadcasting current time of day information from said master adapter to said at least one other adapter; determining, from said time of day information, at said at least one other communication adapter, the number of time of day broadcasts that have been missed; and determining, from said number, whether or not drift correction is to be requested.
