1. An information processing apparatus for communication with an image forming apparatus, said information processing apparatus comprising: selection means for selecting a compound setup from among a plurality of compound setups each including a plurality of print setting items; recognition means for recognizing an output function of the image forming apparatus; determination means for determining one of the plurality of print setting items included in the compound setup selected by said selection means, which print setting item cannot be realized with the output function recognized by said recognition means; and setting means for executing a print setup by modifying the selected compound setup such that one print setting item determined by said determination means is fitted into another print setting item that can be realized with the output function recognized by said recognition means.
2. An information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein if a two-sided mode is included in the selected compound setup and if no two-sided unit is installed in the image forming apparatus, said setting means sets a one-sided mode in place of the two-sided mode.
3. An information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein if a stapling mode is included in the selected compound setup and if no finisher for the stapling mode is installed in the image forming apparatus, said setting means sets a non-stapling mode in place of the stapling mode.
4. An information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein if a bookbinding mode is included in the selected compound setup and if no finisher for the bookbinding mode is installed in the image forming apparatus, said setting means sets a non-bookbinding mode in place of the bookbinding mode.
5. An information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein if a middle binding mode is included in the selected compound setup and if no finisher for the middle binding mode is installed in the image forming apparatus, said setting means sets a non-middle binding mode in place of the middle binding mode.
6. An information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein if a super-fine mode, which requires a sufficient memory space, is included in the selected compound setup and if there is no sufficient memory space for the super-fine mode, said setting means sets a normal mode in place of the super-fine mode.
7. An information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising display means for providing a user with an alarm dialog if said determination means determines the one print setting item.
8. An information processing method for use in communication with an image forming apparatus, said information processing method comprising: a selection step of selecting a compound setup from among a plurality of compound setups each including a plurality of print setting items; a recognition step of recognizing an output function of the image forming apparatus; a determination step of determining one of the plurality of print setting items included in the compound setup selected in said selection step, which print setting item cannot be realized with the output function recognized in said recognition step; and a setting step of executing a print setup by modifying the selected compound setup such that one print setting item determined in said determination step is fitted into another print setting item that can be realized with the output function recognized in said recognition step.
9. An information processing method according to claim 8 , wherein if a two-sided mode is included in the selected compound setup and if no two-sided unit is installed in the image forming apparatus, said setting step includes setting a one-sided mode in place of the two-sided mode.
10. An information processing method according to claim 8 , wherein if a stapling mode is included in the selected compound setup and if no finisher for the stapling mode is installed in the image forming apparatus, said setting step includes setting a non-stapling mode in place of the stapling mode.
11. An information processing method according to claim 8 , wherein if a bookbinding mode is included in the selected compound setup and if no finisher for the bookbinding mode is installed in the image forming apparatus, said setting step includes setting a non-bookbinding mode in place of the bookbinding mode.
12. An information processing method according to claim 8 , wherein if a middle binding mode is included in the selected compound setup and if no finisher for the middle binding mode is installed in the image forming apparatus, said setting step includes setting a non-middle binding mode in place of the middle binding mode.
13. An information processing method according to claim 8 , wherein if a super-fine mode, which requires a sufficient memory space, is included in the selected compound setup and if there is no sufficient memory space for the super-fine mode, said setting step includes setting a normal mode in place of the super-fine mode.
14. An information processing method according to claim 8 , further comprising a display step of providing a user with an alarm dialog if the one print setting item is determined in said determination step.
15. A computer-readable memory medium storing a program for implementing an information processing method for use in communication with an image forming apparatus, said information processing method comprising: a selection step of selecting a compound setup from among a plurality of compound setups each including a plurality of print setting items; a recognition step of recognizing an output function of the image forming apparatus; a determination step of determining one of the plurality of print setting items included in the compound setup selected in said selection step, which print setting item cannot be realized with the output function recognized in said recognition step; and a setting step of executing a print setup by modifying the selected compound setup such that one print setting item determined in said determination step is fitted into another print setting item that can be realized with the output function recognized in said recognition step.
16. An information processing apparatus for communication with an image forming apparatus, said information processing apparatus comprising: a selection unit adapted to select a compound setup from among a plurality of compound setups each including a plurality of print setting items; a recognition unit adapted to recognize an output function of the image forming apparatus; a determination unit adapted to determine one of the plurality of print setting items included in the compound setup selected by said selection unit, which print setting item cannot be realized with the output function recognized by said recognition unit; and a setting unit adapted to execute a print setup by modifying the selected compound setup such that one print setting item determined by said determination unit is fitted into another print setting item that can be realized with the output function recognized by said recognition unit.
