A method of selecting a transport format combination with a mobile station to select a first transport format combination for use in data transmission in a first physical channel in an uplink between the mobile station and a base station from a plurality of first transport format combinations to be set for the first physical channel, and a second transport format combination for use in data transmission in a second physical channel in the uplink from a plurality of second transport format combinations to be set for the second physical channel, said method comprising: the first step of calculating the transmission power of said first physical channel using a first transport format combination with respect to each of said first transport format combinations, comparing the calculated transmission power with the maximum power of said mobile station, and determining whether said mobile station is in a transmission capable state or not based on the result of the comparison; the second step of calculating the sum of the transmission power of said first physical channel and the transmission power of said second physical channel using a first transport format combination and a second transport format combination, respectively, with respect to each of combinations of said first transport format combinations and said second transport format combinations, comparing the calculated sum with the maximum power of said mobile station, and determining whether said mobile station is in the transmission capable state or not based on the result of the comparison; the third step of selecting a first transport format combination from the first transport format combinations wherein said mobile station is in the transmission capable state; the fourth step of selecting a second transport format combination from the second transport format combinations which are included in combinations wherein said mobile station is in the transmission capable state among the combinations including said selected first transport format combination; and the fifth step of transmitting data in said first physical channel and said second physical channel using said selected first transport format combination and said selected second transport format combination, respectively.
2. A method of selecting a transport format combination with a mobile station to select a first transport format combination for use in data transmission in a first physical channel in an uplink between the mobile station and a base station from a plurality of first transport format combinations to be set for the first physical channel, and a second transport format combination for use in data transmission in a second physical channel in the uplink from a plurality of second transport format combinations to be set for the second physical channel, said method comprising: the first step of calculating the sum of the transmission power of said first physical channel and the transmission power of said second physical channel using a first transport format combination and a second transport format combination, respectively, with respect to each of combinations of said first transport format combinations and said second transport format combinations, comparing the calculated sum with the maximum power of said mobile station, and determining whether said mobile station is in a transmission capable state or not based on the result of the comparison; the second step of selecting a combination of a first transport format combination and a second transport format combination from the combinations wherein said mobile station is in the transmission capable state; and the third step of transmitting data in said first physical channel and said second physical channel using the first transport format combination and the second transport format combination which are included in said selected combination.

A wireless communication system having a base station and a mobile station for selecting a first transport format combination for use in data transmission in a first physical channel in an uplink between the mobile station and the base station from a plurality of first transport format combinations to be set for the first physical channel, and a second transport format combination for use in data transmission in a second physical channel in the uplink from a plurality of second transport format combinations to be set for the second physical channel, wherein said mobile station comprises: a first transport format combination selector to calculate the transmission power of said first physical channel using a first transport format combination with respect to each of said first transport format combinations, compare the calculated transmission power with the maximum power of said mobile station, determine whether said mobile station is in a transmission capable state or not based on the result of the comparison, and select a first transport format combination among the first transport format combinations wherein said mobile station is in the transmission capable state; a second transport format combination selector to calculate the sum of the transmission power of said first physical channel and the transmission power of said second physical channel using a first transport format combination and a second transport format combination, respectively, with respect to each of combinations of said first transport format combinations and said second transport format combinations, compare the calculated sum with the maximum power of said mobile station, determine whether said mobile station is in the transmission capable state or not based on the result of the comparison, and select a second transport format combination from the second transport format combinations which are included in combinations wherein said mobile station is in the transmission capable state among the combinations including said selected first transport format combination; and a transmission processor to transmit data in said first physical channel and said second physical channel using said selected first transport format combination and said selected second transport format combination, respectively.

A wireless communication system having a base station and a mobile station for selecting a first transport format combination for use in data transmission in a first physical channel in an uplink between the mobile station and the base station from a plurality of first transport format combinations to be set for the first physical channel, and a second transport format combination for use in data transmission in a second physical channel in the uplink from a plurality of second transport format combinations to be set for the second physical channel, wherein said mobile station comprises: a transport format combination state manager to calculate the sum of the transmission power of said first physical channel and the transmission power of said second physical channel using a first transport format combination and a second transport format combination, respectively, with respect to each of combinations of said first transport format combinations and said second transport format combinations, compare the calculated sum with the maximum power of said mobile station, and determine whether said mobile station is in a transmission capable state or not based on the result of the comparison; a transport format combination selector to select a combination of a first transport format combination and a second transport format combination from the combinations wherein said mobile station is in the transmission capable state; and a transmission processor to transmit data in said first physical channel and said second physical channel using the first transport format combination and the second transport format combination which are included in said selected combination.

A mobile station for selecting a first transport format combination for use in data transmission in a first physical channel in an uplink between the mobile station and a base station from a plurality of first transport format combinations to be set for the first physical channel, and a second transport format combination for use in data transmission in a second physical channel in the uplink from a plurality of second transport format combinations to be set for the second physical channel, wherein said mobile station comprises: a first transport format combination selector for calculating the transmission power of said first physical channel using a first transport format combination with respect to each of said first transport format combinations, comparing the calculated transmission power with the maximum power of said mobile station, determining whether said mobile station is in a transmission capable state or not based on the result of the comparison, and selecting a first transport format combination among the first transport format combinations wherein said mobile station is in the transmission capable state; a second transport format combination selector for calculating the sum of the transmission power of said first physical channel and the transmission power of said second physical channel using a first transport format combination and a second transport format combination, respectively, with respect to each of combinations of said first transport format combinations and said second transport format combinations, comparing the calculated sum with the maximum power of said mobile station, determining whether said mobile station is in the transmission capable state or not based on the result of the comparison, and selecting a second transport format combination from the second transport format combinations which are included in combinations wherein said mobile station is in the transmission capable state among the combinations including said selected first transport format combination; and a transmission processor for transmitting data in said first physical channel and said second physical channel using said selected first transport format combination and said selected second transport format combination, respectively.

A mobile station for selecting a first transport format combination for use in data transmission in a first physical channel in an uplink between the mobile station and a base station from a plurality of first transport format combinations to be set for the first physical channel, and a second transport format combination for use in data transmission in a second physical channel in the uplink from a plurality of second transport format combinations to be set for the second physical channel, said mobile station comprising: a transport format combination state manager to calculate the sum of the transmission power of said first physical channel and the transmission power of said second physical channel using a first transport format combination and a second transport format combination, respectively, with respect to each of combinations of said first transport format combinations and said second transport format combinations, compare the calculated sum with the maximum power of said mobile station, and determine whether said mobile station is in a transmission capable state or not based on the result of the comparison; a transport format combination selector to select a combination of a first transport format combination and a second transport format combination from the combinations wherein said mobile station is in the transmission capable state; and a transmission processor to transmit data in said first physical channel and said second physical channel using the first transport format combination and the second transport format combination which are included in said selected combination.
7. A method of selecting a TFC (transport format combination) with a mobile station to select a first TFC for use in data transmission in a first physical channel between the mobile station and a base station from a first TFC set of at least one first TFC, and a second TFC for use in data transmission in a second physical channel between the mobile station and the base station from a second TFC set of at least one second TFC, comprising: selecting said first TFC and said second TFC such that the sum of the transmission power for transmitting data in said first physical channel with said first TFC and the transmission power for transmitting data in said second physical channel with said second TFC does not exceed the maximum transmission power of said mobile station.

A wireless communication system comprising at least a mobile station and a base station, wherein said mobile station selects a first TFC (transport format combination) for use in data transmission in a first physical channel between the mobile station and a base station from a first TFC set of at least one first TFC and a second TFC for use in data transmission in a second physical channel between the mobile station and the base station from a second TFC set of at least one second TFC; and wherein said mobile station comprises: a transmission power controller to select said first TFC and said second TFC such that the sum of the transmission power for transmitting data in said first physical channel with said first TFC and the transmission power for transmitting data in said second physical channel with said second TFC does not exceed the maximum transmission power of said mobile station.
9. A mobile station for selecting a TFC (transport format combination) with a mobile station to select a first TFC for use in data transmission in a first physical channel between the mobile station and a base station from a first TFC set of at least one first TFC, and a second TFC for use in data transmission in a second physical channel between the mobile station and the base station from a second TFC set of at least one second TFC, said mobile station comprising: a transmission power controller to select said first TFC and said second TFC such that the sum of the transmission power for transmitting data in said first physical channel with said first TFC and the transmission power for transmitting data in said second physical channel with said second TFC does not exceed the maximum transmission power of said mobile station.
