1. Apparatus comprising: at least one computer associated with an automated banking machine that is operative to cause financial transfers responsive at least in part to read data, wherein the machine includes at least one reader, wherein the at least one reader is operative to read customer data usable to identify at least one of a customer of the machine and a financial account, wherein the machine includes a cash dispenser operative to dispense cash from the machine, wherein the machine includes at least one wireless network port, wherein the at least one computer is configured to cause the machine to make an interface application available through the at least one wireless network port to mobile phones of machine customers, wherein the interface application allows a plurality of interface display screens to be respectively viewed through a display of a mobile phone having the interface application thereon, wherein the interface application causes the at least one reader to read information wirelessly communicated from the mobile phone, responsive at least in part to user input provided to at least one of the interface display screens by a phone user, wherein the interface display screens allow the phone user to wirelessly communicate to the at least one reader, financial account information, wherein the interface display screens allow the phone user to wirelessly communicate to the at least one reader, a selection from a plurality of selectable machine transactions, wherein the plurality of selectable transactions include a cash withdrawal transaction, wherein the interface display screens allow the phone user to wirelessly communicate to the at least one reader, a requested amount of cash, wherein the interface application causes the machine to operate the cash dispenser to dispense cash corresponding to the requested amount of cash, responsive at least in part to phone user input to the at least one interface display screen of each of the financial account information, the selection of a cash withdrawal transaction, and the requested amount of cash.
2. The apparatus according to claim 1 wherein the automated banking machine is part of a banking system, wherein the machine includes the at least one computer, wherein the at least one reader includes both at least one card reader, and at least one biometric reader, wherein the at least one computer is operative during a user transaction session with the machine to cause card data to be read from a card through operation of the at least one card reader, and then cause the read card data to be compared with card information stored in at least one data store, and cause biometric data to be read through operation of the at least one biometric reader, and then cause the read biometric data to be compared with biometric information in the at least one data store, wherein the at least one computer is operative to authorize the user to request a financial transaction involving the cash dispenser responsive at least in part to both computer-determined correspondence between the read card data and stored card information, and computer-determined correspondence between the read biometric data and stored biometric information, wherein the at least one computer is operative to cause data corresponding to at least a portion of read card data to be sent in at least one first message to at least one remote computer remotely located from the machine, wherein the at least one computer is operative to allow cash to be dispensed from the machine responsive at least in part to receipt by the at least one computer of at least one second message from the at least one remote computer.
3. The apparatus according to claim 1 wherein the at least one computer is configured initiate a transaction session with a customer responsive to the machine receiving initial communication from a mobile phone operated by the customer.
4. The apparatus according to claim 1 wherein the at least one computer is configured to cause the machine to make available an interface application comprising a plurality of interface display screens which include each of a transaction selection input screen, an account input screen, and a cash amount input screen, wherein the transaction selection input screen allows the phone user to wirelessly communicate a transaction selection to the at least one reader, wherein the account input screen allows the phone user to wirelessly communicate financial account information to the at least one reader, wherein requested amount of cash input screen allows the phone user to wirelessly communicate a requested amount of cash to the at least one reader.
5. The apparatus according to claim 4 wherein the interface display screens include a personal identification number (PIN) input screen, wherein the PIN input screen allows the phone user to wirelessly communicate a PIN to the at least one reader, wherein the at least one computer is configured to cause the machine to make available an interface application that causes the machine to operate the cash dispenser to dispense cash corresponding to a requested amount of cash, responsive at least in part to phone user input to the at least one interface display screen of each of a PIN, financial account information, a selection of a cash withdrawal transaction, and the requested amount of cash.
6. The apparatus according to claim 1 wherein the automated banking machine includes a user interface, wherein the user interface includes a display device, wherein the at least one computer is configured to cause the machine to present at least some of the interface display screens through the display device.
7. The apparatus according to claim 1 wherein the automated banking machine includes a user interface, wherein the user interface includes at least one input device, wherein the machine is operative to receive input corresponding to the financial account information, the cash withdrawal transaction selection, and the requested amount of cash, through both the interface application and the at least one input device.
8. The apparatus according to claim 1 wherein the at least one computer is configured to cause the machine to make the interface application available to mobile phones of customers authorized to use the machine to carry out transactions.
9. The apparatus according to claim 1 wherein the at least one wireless network port includes an RF interface, wherein the at least one reader is operative to read phone input information wirelessly communicated to the RF interface.
10. The apparatus according to claim 1 wherein the at least one wireless network port includes an IR interface, wherein the at least one reader is operative to read phone input information wirelessly communicated to the IR interface.
11. The apparatus according to claim 1 wherein the automated banking machine includes the at least one computer.
12. A method comprising: (a) operating at least one computer associated with an automated banking machine that is operative to cause financial transfers responsive at least in part to read data, to cause the machine to make an interface application available to mobile phones of machine customers, wherein the machine includes at least one reader, wherein the at least one reader is operative to read customer data usable to identify at least one of a customer of the machine and a financial account, wherein the machine includes a cash dispenser operative to dispense cash from the machine, wherein the machine includes at least one wireless network port, wherein the at least one computer is configured to cause the machine to make the interface application available through the at least one wireless network port, wherein the interface application allows a plurality of interface display screens to be respectively viewed through a display of a mobile phone having the interface application thereon, wherein the interface application causes the at least one reader to read information wirelessly communicated from the mobile phone, responsive at least in part to user input provided to at least one of the interface display screens by a phone user, wherein the interface display screens allow the phone user to wirelessly communicate to the at least one reader, financial account information, wherein the interface display screens allow the phone user to wirelessly communicate to the at least one reader, a selection from a plurality of selectable machine transactions, wherein the plurality of selectable transactions include a cash withdrawal transaction, wherein the interface display screens allow the phone user to wirelessly communicate to the at least one reader, a requested amount of cash, wherein the interface application causes the machine to operate the cash dispenser to dispense cash corresponding to the requested amount of cash, responsive at least in part to phone user input to the at least one interface display screen of each of the financial account information, the selection of a cash withdrawal transaction, and the requested amount of cash; (b) operating the at least one computer to cause the at least one reader to read financial account information, a cash withdrawal transaction selection, and a requested amount of cash, communicated from phone responsive to user input to the interface application; and (c) operating the at least one computer to cause the cash dispenser to dispense cash corresponding to the requested amount of cash, responsive to the reading in (b).
13. The method according to claim 12 wherein in (a)-(c) the automated banking machine includes the at least one computer.
14. The method according to claim 12 wherein the automated banking machine includes a user interface, wherein the user interface includes a display device, wherein the at least one computer is configured to cause the machine to present at least some of the interface display screens through the display device, and further comprising: (d) operating the at least one computer to cause the machine to present at least one of the interface display screens through the display device.
15. The method according to claim 12 wherein the automated banking machine includes a user interface, wherein the user interface includes at least one input device, wherein the machine is operative to receive input corresponding to the financial account information, the cash withdrawal transaction selection, and the requested amount of cash, through both the interface application and the at least one input device, and further comprising: (d) operating the at least one computer to cause the machine to receive input corresponding to financial account information, a cash withdrawal transaction selection, and a requested amount of cash, through the at least one input device.
16. The method according to claim 12 wherein (a) includes operating the at least one computer to cause the machine to make the interface application available to mobile phones of customers authorized to use the machine to carry out transactions.
17. Apparatus comprising: at least one computer associated with an automated transaction machine that is operative to cause financial transfers responsive at least in part to read data, wherein the machine includes at least one reader, wherein the at least one reader is operative to read customer data usable to identify at least one of a customer of the machine and a financial account, wherein the machine includes at least one wireless network port which allows the machine to wirelessly communicate with mobile phones of machine customers, wherein the at least one computer is configured to cause the machine to make a transaction interface application available through the at least one wireless network port to the mobile phones, wherein the transaction interface application allows a plurality of interface display screens to be respectively viewed through a display of a mobile phone having the transaction interface application thereon, wherein the plurality of interface display screens include each of at least a personal identification number (PIN) input screen, a financial account information input screen, and a transaction selection input screen, wherein the transaction interface application causes the at least one reader to read information wirelessly communicated from the mobile phone, responsive at least in part to phone user input to the interface display screens by a phone user, wherein the transaction interface application causes the at least one reader to read a PIN inputted to the PIN input screen, wherein the transaction interface application causes the at least one reader to read financial account information inputted to the financial account information input screen, wherein the transaction interface application causes the at least one reader to read a transaction selection inputted to the transaction selection input screen, wherein the at least one computer is configured to cause the machine to carry out a phone user selected transaction responsive at least in part to the at least one reader reading the PIN, the financial account information, and the transaction selection.
18. The apparatus according to claim 17 wherein the machine includes a cash dispenser operative to dispense cash from the machine, wherein the transaction selection input screen allows a phone user to select a cash withdrawal transaction, wherein the transaction interface application causes the at least one reader to read a cash withdrawal transaction selection inputted to the transaction selection input screen, wherein the plurality of interface display screens include a requested amount of cash input screen, wherein the transaction interface application causes the at least one reader to read a requested amount of cash inputted to the requested amount of cash input screen, wherein the at least one computer is configured to cause the machine to operate the cash dispenser to dispense cash corresponding to the requested amount of cash responsive at least in part to the at least one reader reading the PIN, the financial account information, the cash withdrawal transaction selection, and the requested amount of cash.
19. The apparatus according to claim 17 wherein the automated transaction machine includes a user interface, wherein the user interface includes a machine display device, wherein the at least one computer is configured to cause the display device to output available user selections, wherein the user interface includes at least one user input device, wherein the at least one user input device is operative to receive user input corresponding to a user selection from the available user selections output through the display device, wherein the transaction interface application allows the phone user to cause the machine to carry out the phone user selected transaction without using the display device or the at least one user input device.
20. The apparatus according to claim 17 wherein the automated banking machine includes a user interface, wherein the user interface includes a display device, wherein the at least one computer is configured to cause the machine to present at least some of the plurality of interface display screens through the display device, wherein the user interface includes at least one input device, wherein the machine is operative to receive input corresponding to a PIN, financial account information, and a transaction selection, through both of the transaction interface application and the at least one input device, wherein the at least one computer is configured to cause the machine to carry out a same transaction responsive at least in part to user input to either of the mobile phone and the at least one input device.
