1. A storage system comprising: a first storage apparatus including a first controller and a plurality of first storage devices; and a second storage apparatus including a second controller, and a plurality of second storage devices, wherein the first controller manages a first virtual storage apparatus having a first logical storage area on at least one of the first storage devices, to which the first controller permits access from a first server by referring to first management information, the first management information indicating access right to the first logical storage area, wherein a second virtual storage apparatus having a second logical storage area, to which the first controller permits access from a second server by referring to second management information, is provided on at least one of the first storage devices, the first management information indicating access right to the second logical storage area, and wherein when the first virtual storage apparatus is copied from the first storage apparatus to the second storage apparatus, the first controller copies the first logical storage area and the first management information to the second storage apparatus, and the second controller creates the copied first virtual storage apparatus in the second storage apparatus on at least one of the plurality of second storage devices, based on the copied first logical storage area and the first management information, wherein the copied first virtual storage apparatus including the copied first logical storage area, to which the second controller permits access from the first server by referring to the copied first management information.

A storage system according to claim 1 , wherein the first management information includes a relationship between an identifier of the first server and an identifier of the first logical storage area, and the second management information includes a relationship between an identifier of the second server and an identifier the second logical storage area.

A storage system according to claim 1 , wherein the first storage apparatus further has first administrator information indicating a first administrator as an administrator of the first virtual storage apparatus, and second administrator information indicating a second administrator as an administrator of the second virtual storage apparatus, and wherein when the first virtual storage apparatus is copied from the first storage apparatus to the second storage apparatus, the first controller further copies the first administrator information to the second storage apparatus, and the second controller sets the first administrator as an administrator of the copied first virtual storage apparatus.

4. A storage system according to claim 3 , wherein the first administrator and the second administrator are different from an administrator of the first storage apparatus.

A storage system according to claim 3 , wherein the first administrator information includes a relationship between an identifier of the first administrator and an identification of the first virtual storage apparatus, and the second administrator information includes a relationship between an identifier of the second administrator and an identification of the second virtual storage apparatus.

A storage system according to claim 1 , wherein the first storage apparatus further includes a first cache memory, and the second storage apparatus further includes a second cache memory, wherein the first virtual storage apparatus further has a first virtual cache memory, and the second virtual storage apparatus further has a second virtual cache memory, wherein the first storage apparatus further has first virtual cache memory information including a first capacity of the first cache memory occupied by the first virtual cache memory, and second virtual cache memory information including a second capacity of the first cache memory occupied by the second virtual cache memory, and wherein when the first virtual storage apparatus is copied from the first storage apparatus to the second storage apparatus, the first controller further copies the first virtual cache memory information to the second storage apparatus, and the second controller sets a virtual cache memory on the second cache memory to the copied first virtual storage apparatus by referring to the copied first virtual cache memory information.

7. A storage system according to claim 6 , wherein a capacity of the set virtual cache memory is smaller than the first capacity occupied by the first virtual cache memory in the first virtual storage apparatus.

A storage system comprising: a first storage apparatus including a plurality of first storage devices, and a first controller which manages: a first virtual storage apparatus having a first logical storage area prepared on at least one of said first storage devices, and a second virtual storage apparatus having a second logical storage area prepared on at least one of said first storage devices; and a second storage apparatus including a plurality of second storage devices, and a second controller; wherein the first controller permits access from a first server by referring to first management information, the first management information indicating access right to the first logical storage area, wherein the first controller permits access from a second server by referring to second management information, the first management information indicating access right to the second logical storage area, and wherein when the first virtual storage apparatus is copied from the first storage apparatus to the second storage apparatus, the first controller copies the first logical storage area and the first management information to the second storage apparatus, and the second controller creates the copied first virtual storage apparatus in the second storage apparatus on at least one of the plurality of second storage devices, based on the copied first logical storage area and the first management information, wherein the copied first virtual storage apparatus including the copied first logical storage area, to which access right of the first client is set by the second controller using the copied first management information.

A storage system according to claim 8 , wherein the first storage apparatus further has first administrator information including a first administrator as an administrator of the first virtual storage apparatus, and second administrator information including a second administrator as an administrator of the second virtual storage apparatus, and wherein when the first virtual storage apparatus is copied from the first storage apparatus to the second storage apparatus, the first controller further copies the first administrator information to the second storage apparatus, and the second controller sets the first administrator as an administrator of the copied first virtual storage apparatus.

10. A storage system according to claim 9 , wherein the first administrator and the second administrator are different from an administrator of the first storage apparatus.

A storage system according to claim 8 , wherein the first storage apparatus further including a first cache memory, and the second storage apparatus further including a second cache memory, wherein the first virtual storage apparatus further has a first virtual cache memory, and the second virtual storage apparatus further has a second virtual cache memory, wherein the first storage apparatus further has first virtual cache memory information including a first capacity of the first cache memory occupied by the first virtual cache memory, and second virtual cache memory information including a second capacity of the first cache memory occupied by the second virtual cache memory, and wherein when the first virtual storage apparatus is copied from the first storage apparatus to the second storage apparatus, the first controller further copies the first virtual cache memory information to the second storage apparatus, and the second controller sets a virtual cache memory on the second cache memory to the copied first virtual storage apparatus, by referring to the copied first virtual cache memory information.

12. A storage system according to claim 11 , wherein a capacity of the set virtual cache memory is smaller than the first capacity occupied by the first virtual cache memory in the first virtual storage apparatus.

A method for a first storage apparatus including a plurality of first storage devices and coupled to a second storage apparatus including a plurality of second storage devices, the method comprising: managing a first virtual storage apparatus having a first logical storage area on at least one of the first storage devices, to which the first controller permits access from a first server by referring to first management information, the first management information indicating access right to the first logical storage area, managing a second virtual storage apparatus having a second logical storage area, to which the first controller permits access, from a second server by referring to second management information, on at least one of the first storage devices, the first management information indicating access right to the second logical storage area, and copying, when the first virtual storage apparatus is copied from the first storage apparatus to the second storage apparatus, the first logical storage area and the first management information to the second storage apparatus to create copied first virtual storage apparatus in the second storage apparatus on at least one of the plurality of second storage devices, based on the copied first logical storage area and the first management information, wherein the copied first virtual storage apparatus including the copied first logical storage area, to which the first server is permitted to access by referring to the copied first management information.

A method according to claim 13 , wherein the first management information includes a relationship between an identifier of the first server and an identifier of the first logical storage area, and the second management information includes a relationship between an identifier of the second server and an identifier the second logical storage area.

A method according to claim 13 , further comprising: managing first administrator information indicating a first administrator as an administrator of the first virtual storage apparatus, and second administrator information indicating a second administrator as an administrator of the second virtual storage apparatus; and copying, when the first virtual storage apparatus is copied from the first storage apparatus to the second storage apparatus, the first administrator information to the second storage apparatus to set the first administrator as an administrator of the copied first virtual storage apparatus created in the second storage apparatus.

16. A method according to claim 15 , wherein the first administrator and the second administrator are different from an administrator of the first storage apparatus.

A method according to claim 15 , wherein the first administrator information includes a relationship between an identifier of the first administrator and an identification of the first virtual storage apparatus, and the second administrator information includes a relationship between an identifier of the second administrator and an identification of the second virtual storage apparatus.

A method according to claim 13 , wherein the first storage apparatus further includes a first cache memory, and the second storage apparatus further includes a second cache memory, the method further comprising: managing the first virtual storage apparatus having a first virtual cache memory, and the second virtual storage apparatus having a second virtual cache memory; managing first virtual cache memory information including a first capacity of the first cache memory occupied by the first virtual cache memory, and second virtual cache memory information including a second capacity of the first cache memory occupied by the second virtual cache memory; and copying, when the first virtual storage apparatus is copied from the first storage apparatus to the second storage apparatus, the first virtual cache memory information to the second storage apparatus to set a virtual cache memory on the second cache memory to the created first virtual storage apparatus in the second storage apparatus by referring to the copied first virtual cache memory information.

19. A method according to claim 18 , wherein a capacity of the set virtual cache memory is smaller than the first capacity occupied by the first virtual cache memory in the first virtual storage apparatus.

A method for a first storage apparatus including a plurality of first storage devices and coupled to a second storage apparatus including a plurality of second storage devices, the method comprising: managing: a first virtual storage apparatus having a first logical storage area prepared on at least one of said first storage devices, and a second virtual storage apparatus having a second logical storage area prepared on at least one of said first storage devices; permitting access from a first server by referring to first management information, the first management information indicating access right to the first logical storage area, permitting access from a second server by referring to second management information, the first management information indicating access right to the second logical storage area, and copying, when the first virtual storage apparatus is copied from the first storage apparatus to the second storage apparatus, the first logical storage area and the first management information to the second storage apparatus, to create the copied first virtual storage apparatus in the second storage apparatus on at least one of the plurality of second storage devices, based on the copied first logical storage area and the first management information, wherein the copied first virtual storage apparatus including the copied first logical storage area, to which an access right of the first client is set by referring to the copied first management information.

A method according to claim 20 , further comprising: managing first administrator information including a first administrator as an administrator of the first virtual storage apparatus, and second administrator information including a second administrator as an administrator of the second virtual storage apparatus; and copying, when the first virtual storage apparatus is copied from the first storage apparatus to the second storage apparatus, the first administrator information to the second storage apparatus to set the first administrator as an administrator of the copied first virtual storage apparatus in the second storage apparatus.

22. A method according to claim 21 , wherein the first administrator and the second administrator are different from an administrator of the first storage apparatus.

A method according to claim 20 , wherein the first storage apparatus further includes a first cache memory, and the second storage apparatus further includes a second cache memory, the method further comprising: managing the first virtual storage apparatus further having a first virtual cache memory, and the second virtual storage apparatus further having a second virtual cache memory; managing first virtual cache memory information including a first capacity of the first cache memory occupied by the first virtual cache memory, and second virtual cache memory information including a second capacity of the first cache memory occupied by the second virtual cache memory; and copying, when the first virtual storage apparatus is copied from the first storage apparatus to the second storage apparatus, the first virtual cache memory information to the second storage apparatus to set a virtual cache memory on the second cache memory to the copied first virtual storage apparatus created in the second storage apparatus by referring to the copied first virtual cache memory information.

24. A method according to claim 23 , wherein a capacity of the set virtual cache memory is smaller than the first capacity occupied by the first virtual cache memory in the first virtual storage apparatus.
