Image Data Management Apparatus and Method, Image Data Search Apparatus and Method, and Recording Medium

1. An apparatus capable of performing search of image data whose predetermined date is known and image data in which a period including start and end dates is set, the apparatus comprising: an input unit configured to input a search condition; a search unit configured to search, when a date or a period is designated as the search condition by the input unit, the image data whose predetermined date is known based on the predetermined date and the image data in which the period is set based on the set period; and a calculation unit configured to calculate, when a period is designated as the search condition, calculate an index indicating a degree of overlapping between the period set for the image data and the period designated as the search condition.

2. The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the apparatus is a multifunction printer.

3. A method for searching image data whose predetermined date is known and image data in which a period including start and end dates is set, the method comprising: inputting a search condition; searching, when a date or a period is designated as the search condition, the image data whose predetermined date is known based on the predetermined date and the image data in which the period is set based on the set period; and calculating, when a period is designated as the search condition, an index indicating a degree of overlapping between the period set for the image data and the period designated as the search condition.

4. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program causing an apparatus to perform the method according to claim 3 .

5. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium according to claim 4 , wherein the apparatus is a multifunction printer.
