1. A method comprising: (a) operating a mobile phone to initiate a cash withdrawal transaction requiring an automated banking machine that includes a cash dispenser operable to dispense cash, wherein the machine is operable responsive at least in part to data read from data bearing records, wherein the machine includes a user data reader, wherein the user data reader is operable to read user data that is usable to identify a financial account, wherein the machine is operable to carry out a cash dispense transaction involving a financial account for an authorized user of the machine, responsive at least in part to computer-determined correspondence between user data read by the at least one reader and the financial account, wherein the machine includes at least one display comprising a display screen, wherein the operating includes receiving at least one user input with the mobile phone, wherein the at least one user input indicates: a personal identification number (PIN), a financial account, and a requested cash amount; (b) subsequent to (a), operating the mobile phone to wirelessly communicate user data to a transaction system associated with the machine, wherein the user data includes at least data corresponding to the financial account, and data corresponding to the requested cash amount; (c) operating the mobile phone during the cash withdrawal transaction, to cause a camera of the mobile phone to capture a barcode displayed on a display screen of the at least one display, wherein the barcode includes an identifier of the machine, wherein capture of the barcode with the mobile phone is operative to at least partly cause the cash dispenser to dispense an amount of cash corresponding to the requested cash amount; and (d) operating the mobile phone to wirelessly receive data associated with the cash withdrawal transaction.

The method according to claim 1 wherein (d) is subsequent to (c), wherein (d) includes operating the mobile phone to wireless sly receive from the transaction system, an electronic receipt associated with the cash withdrawal transaction, wherein in (d) the electronic receipt includes data that indicates the amount of cash dispensed in the cash withdrawal transaction.

The method according to claim 2 wherein in (c) the machine is a first cash dispensing automated banking machine of a banking system that includes a plurality of cash dispensing automated banking machines, wherein the machine includes a card reader and a biometric reader, wherein the machine is associated with at least one processor, wherein the at least one processor is operative to cause card data read by the card reader and card information stored in an authorized user information data store to be computer-compared for a first predetermined relationship, wherein the at least one processor is operative to cause biometric data read by the biometric reader and biometric information stored in the authorized user information data store to be computer-compared for a second predetermined relationship, wherein the at least one processor is operative to authorize a machine user to request a cash dispense transaction responsive at least in part to both: the read card data and the stored card information having the first predetermined relationship, and the read biometric data and the stored biometric information having the second predetermined relationship.

4. The method according to claim 2 wherein (a) includes operating the camera to capture a check image of a financial check having a financial value, wherein (b) includes operating the mobile phone to wireless sly communicate the check image to the transaction system.

The method according to claim 4 wherein the mobile phone includes memory, wherein the memory includes an account number and electronic signature data representative of a customer signature, wherein (b) includes operating the mobile phone to wirelessly communicate the account number and the electronic signature data to the transaction system, wherein the transaction system includes at least one computer, and further comprising (e) operating the at least one computer to receive the check image and the electronic signature data communicated by the phone; (f) operating the at least one computer to cause the electronic signature data to be stored in correlated relation with the check image in a transaction record; and (g) operating the at least one computer to cause the financial account to be credited with a cash value associated with the financial value.

6. The method according to claim 4 wherein the requested cash amount corresponds to a partial amount of the financial value, and wherein in (c) the amount of cash to be dispensed by the machine corresponds to the partial amount.

7. The method according to claim 1 wherein (a) and (b) occur with the mobile phone located offsite of the machine, and wherein (c) is subsequent to (b).

8. The method according to claim 1 wherein in (b) the user data includes data corresponding to the PIN.

A method comprising: (a) operating a transaction system associated with an automated banking machine that is operable responsive at least in part to data read from data bearing records, to receive customer data wirelessly communicated from a mobile phone of a person involved in a request for a cash withdrawal transaction, wherein the machine includes a user data reader, wherein the user data reader is operable to read user data that is usable to identify a financial account, wherein the machine includes a cash dispenser, wherein the cash dispenser is operable to dispense cash from the machine to an authorized user of the machine during a cash dispense transaction, wherein the machine is operable to carry out a cash dispense transaction involving a financial account responsive at least in part to computer-determined correspondence between user data read by the at least one reader and the financial account, wherein the machine includes at least one display comprising a display screen, wherein the transaction system includes a financial transaction host, wherein the customer data indicates: a personal identification number (PIN), a financial account, and a requested amount associated with the cash withdrawal transaction; (b) operating the transaction system to receive from the mobile phone, barcode data captured by a mobile phone camera from a display screen of the at least one display, wherein the barcode data includes an identifier of the machine; (c) subsequent to (a) and (b), operating the transaction system to instruct the machine to dispense an amount of cash corresponding to the requested amount; and (d) operating the transaction system to cause data associated with the cash withdrawal transaction to be wirelessly communicated to the mobile phone.

The method according to claim 9 wherein (d) is subsequent to (c), wherein (d) includes operating the transaction system to cause an electronic receipt associated with the cash withdrawal transaction to be wirelessly communicated to the mobile phone, wherein the electronic receipt includes data that indicates the amount of cash dispensed in the cash withdrawal transaction.

The method according to claim 10 wherein the transaction system includes at least one computer, wherein the customer data received in (a) includes an image of a financial check having a financial value, and electronic signature data representative of a customer signature, and further comprising (e) operating the at least one computer to cause the electronic signature data to be stored in correlated relation with the check image in a transaction record; and (f) operating the at least one computer to cause the financial account to be credited with a cash value associated with the financial value.

12. The method according to claim 11 wherein the requested amount corresponds to a partial amount of the financial value, wherein (c) includes causing the machine to dispense an amount of cash corresponding to the partial amount.

13. The method according to claim 10 wherein (a)-(d) are carried out while the mobile phone is located offsite of the machine.

14. The method according to claim 9 wherein (a) occurs with the mobile phone located offsite of the machine, wherein (b) is subsequent to (a), wherein (b) includes operating the transaction system to receive from the mobile phone, barcode data captured by a camera of the mobile phone.

15. The method according to claim 9 wherein (c) is carried out without the machine having received from a customer, any customer input indicative of: the PIN, the financial account, or the requested amount.

16. The method according to claim 9 and further comprising (e) prior to (b), operating the transaction system to cause the machine to display the barcode data.

A method comprising: (a) operating an automated banking machine during a cash withdrawal transaction to display a barcode, wherein the machine is operable responsive at least in part to data read from data bearing records, wherein the machine includes a user data reader, wherein the user data reader is operable to read user data that is usable to identify a financial account, wherein the machine includes at least one display comprising a display screen, wherein the at least one display is operable to display the barcode, wherein the machine includes a cash dispenser, wherein the cash dispenser is operable to dispense cash from the machine to an authorized user of the machine during a cash dispense transaction, wherein the machine is operable to carry out a cash dispense transaction involving a financial account responsive at least in part to computer-determined correspondence between user data read by the at least one reader and the financial account, wherein the barcode is usable to uniquely identify the machine to a transaction system that includes a financial transaction host which includes at least one computer, wherein the barcode is displayed in a manner that allows the barcode to be captured by a camera of a mobile phone of a user involved in the cash withdrawal transaction; (b) operating the machine to receive from the financial transaction host responsive at least in part to the barcode being captured by the mobile phone, instructions to dispense a particular amount of cash, wherein the particular amount of cash is associated with the cash withdrawal transaction; (c) subsequent to (b), operating the machine to dispense the particular amount of cash, wherein the cash is dispensed without the machine having received from the user, any user input of: a personal identification number (PIN), a financial account, or a requested cash amount, wherein the cash dispensed is accessible to the user; and (d) subsequent to (c), operating the machine to notify the transaction system that the particular amount of cash was dispensed.

The method according to claim 17 wherein the machine is a first cash dispensing automated banking machine of a banking system that includes a plurality of cash dispensing automated banking machines, wherein the at least one reader includes both a card reader and a biometric reader, wherein the machine is associated with at least one processor, wherein the at least one processor is operative during a user transaction session to cause card data to be read through operation of the card reader, and cause biometric data to be read through operation of the biometric reader, and further comprising: (e) operating the card reader to read card data; (f) operating the biometric reader to read biometric data; and (g) operating the at least one processor to authorize the user to request a financial transaction involving the cash dispenser, responsive at least in part to both: computer-determined correspondence between the card data read in (e) and stored card information, and computer-determined correspondence between the biometric data read in (f) and stored biometric information.

The method according to claim 17 wherein (b) includes operating the machine to receive the instructions responsive at least in part to the transaction system wirelessly receiving customer data from the mobile phone, wherein the customer data includes an image of a financial check having a financial value, and electronic signature data representative of a customer signature.

The method according to claim 17 wherein (b) is subsequent to the cash withdrawal transaction being initiated through the mobile phone at a location offsite of the machine, and further comprising: (e) subsequent to initiation of the cash withdrawal transaction but prior to (b), operating the machine to carry out a different transaction for a different user not involved in the cash withdrawal transaction.
