Legal claims defining the scope of protection, as filed with the USPTO.
1. A method, comprising: using a computer for effecting a transaction on a computer system, by first requiring a user to enter information on the computer system for the transaction at a first time; using the computer to read from a memory on a credit card device that is separate from the computer, data including at least multiple of a first set of data to access a bank account, a second set of data to access a credit card account, a third set of data representing an identification of a holder of the credit card account, and a fourth set of data to access account services; using the computer for performing a first authentication process on said data, and completing said transaction if said step of performing a first authentication process meets a required condition, and otherwise preventing completing said transaction; using said computer operating for accessing a location tracking device on said credit card device, and obtaining data from said accessing that automatically determines a location of said credit card device; and carrying out said transaction using an automatically-determined location as part of the transaction based on said data obtained from said accessing, wherein said location is used to determine a security of the transaction.
2. A method as in claim 1 , further comprising requiring a security function, to complete said transaction using said data sets, only if an amount of said transaction is greater than a limited amount, and otherwise not requiring said security function to complete said transaction.
3. A method as in claim 2 wherein said security function comprises entering a secret code.
4. A method as in claim 1 , wherein said location is used to set a currency of the transaction automatically.
5. The method as in claim 4 , wherein information from said location tracking device is also used automatically for tracking a location of the credit card device over time.
6. A system, comprising: a computer with a user interface that controls carrying out a transaction on a computer system, by first requiring a user to enter information on the computer system for the transaction at a first time; said computer reading from a memory on a credit card device that is separate from the computer, data including at least multiple of a first set of data to access a bank account, a second set of data to access a credit card account, a third set of data representing an identification of a holder of the credit card account, and a fourth set of data to access account services; said computer performing a first authentication process on said data, and completing said transaction if said first authentication process meets a required condition, and otherwise preventing completing said transaction, and said computer operating for accessing a location tracking device on said credit card device that automatically determines a location of said credit card device, and carrying out said transaction using an automatically-determined location as part of the transaction by sending said location to the computer system, wherein said location is used to determine a security of the transaction.
7. The system as in claim 6 , wherein said computer requires a security function to complete said transaction using said data sets, only if an amount of said transaction is greater than a limited amount, and otherwise not requiring said security function to complete said transaction.
8. The system as in claim 7 wherein said security function comprises entering a secret code.
9. The system as in claim 6 , wherein information from said location tracking device is also used automatically for tracking a location of the credit card device over time.
