1

1. A method comprising: identifying within an annotation sequence at least one annotation corresponding to at least one location within a media stream, the annotation sequence comprising a plurality of annotations, a plurality of time marks, and at least one arc defining a period between time marks, wherein at least one of the plurality of annotations and a probability of the accuracy of the at least one annotation is associated with the at least one arc, and wherein the at least one annotation within the media stream is identified based at least in part on the probability of the accuracy of the annotation associated with the at least one arc; presenting on a client device an icon associated with the at least one annotation, the icon selectable for retrieving media data corresponding to the at least one annotation; and presenting, in response to a selection of the icon, the media data corresponding to the least one annotation to the client device.

2

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the media stream comprises at least one of a video and audio.

3

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the media stream comprises a plurality of video scenes, each annotation corresponds to at least one of the plurality of scenes, and the at least one annotation comprises information about the at least one scene.

4

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the information about the at least one scene comprises words that occur in the scene.

5

5. The method of claim 3 , wherein the information about the at least one scene comprises an indication of a person in the at least one scene.

6

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the media data comprises at least one of video, audio, and text.

7

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the media data comprises at least one of a plurality of video scenes within the media stream and the at least one annotation comprises information about the at least one video scene.

8

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein media data comprises at least one of an image and a video and the at least one annotation has a URL associated therewith that references the at least one of an image and a video.

9

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the annotation has at least one of a start time corresponding to a location in the media stream where the annotation begins and an end time corresponding to a location in the media stream where the annotation ends.

10

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the media data associated with the at least one annotation is presented to the client in response to a query from a user of the client device.

11

11. A system comprising at least one processing device having software associated therewith that when executed causes the at least one processing device to perform a method comprising: identifying within an annotation sequence at least one annotation corresponding to at least one location within a media stream, the annotation sequence comprising a plurality of annotations, a plurality of time marks, and at least one arc defining a period between time marks, wherein at least one of the plurality of annotations and a probability of the accuracy of the at least one annotation is associated with the at least one arc, and wherein the at least one annotation within the media stream is identified based at least in part on the probability of the accuracy of the annotation associated with the at least one arc; presenting on a client device an icon associated with the at least one annotation, the icon selectable for retrieving media data corresponding to the at least one annotation; and presenting, in response to a selection of the icon, the media data corresponding to the least one annotation to the client device.

12

12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the media stream comprises at least one of a video and audio.

13

13. The method of claim 11 , wherein the media stream comprises a plurality of video scenes, each annotation corresponds to at least one of the plurality of scenes, and the at least one annotation comprises information about the at least one scene.

14

14. The system of claim 13 , wherein the information about the at least one scene comprises words that occur in the scene.

15

15. The system of claim 13 , wherein the information about the at least one scene comprises an indication of a person in the at least one scene.

16

16. The system of claim 11 , wherein the media data comprises at least one of video, audio, and text.

17

17. The system of claim 11 , wherein the media data comprises at least one of a plurality of video scenes within the media stream and the at least one annotation comprises information about the at least one video scene.

18

18. The system of claim 11 , wherein media data comprises at least one of an image and a video and the at least one annotation has a URL associated therewith that references the at least one of an image and a video.

19

19. The system of claim 11 , wherein the annotation has at least one of a start time corresponding to a location in the media strewn where the annotation begins and an end time corresponding to a location in the media stream where the annotation ends.

20

20. The system of claim 11 , wherein the media data associated with the at least one annotation is presented to the client in response to a query from a user of the client device.
