1. An information processing apparatus comprising: a storage unit configured to store data; an input unit configured to input a first type of job and a second type of job different from the first type of job; a control unit configured to execute the first type of job and the second type of job using a program stored in the storage unit; a supply unit configured to supply power to the storage unit and the control unit; a setting unit configured to set a first waiting time if the first type of job is input by the input unit, and to set a second waiting time different from the first waiting time if the second type of job is input by the input unit; and a power control unit configured to, (1) stop power supply to the control unit but maintain power supply to the storage unit after the first type of job is executed by the control unit, and then stop power supply to the storage unit after the first waiting time set by the setting unit elapses, and (2) stop power supply to the control unit but maintain power supply to the storage unit after the second type of job is executed by the control unit, and then stop power supply to the storage unit after the second waiting time set by the setting unit elapses, wherein the first type of job is an inquiry job to inquire about device information of the information processing apparatus stored in the storage unit and the second type of job is a print job to cause a print unit to print an image on a sheet.

2

2. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the second waiting time is shorter than the first waiting time.

3

3. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the power control unit is configured to start power supply to the storage unit responsive to input of the first type of job or the second type of job.

4

4. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the storage unit is a Hard Disk Drive.

5

5. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the control unit is configured to read or write data on the storage unit.

6

6. A control method for an information processing apparatus having a storage unit configured to store data, an input unit configured to input a first type of job and second type of job different from the first type of job, a control unit configured to execute the first type of job and the second type of job using a program stored in the storage unit, and a supply unit configured to supply power to the storage unit and the control unit, the control method comprising: storing data in the storage unit; inputting the first type of job and the second type of job different from the first type of job; executing the first type of job and the second type of job using the program stored in the storage unit; setting a first waiting time if the first type of job is input, and setting a second waiting time different from the first waiting time if the second type of job is input; and power controlling to, (1) stop power supply to the control unit but maintain power supply to the storage unit after the first type of job is executed by the control unit, and then stop power supply to the storage unit after the set first waiting time elapses, and (2) stop power supply to the control unit but maintain power supply to the storage unit after the second type of job is executed by the control unit, and then stop power supply to the storage unit after the set second waiting time set elapses, wherein the first type of iob is an inquiry iob to inquire about device information of the information processing apparatus stored in the storage unit and the second type of iob is a print lob to cause a print unit to print an image on a sheet.

7

7. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a program provided for use in an information processing apparatus to make a processor execute a method comprising: inputting a first type of job and a second type of job different from the first type of job to an information processing apparatus having a storage unit configured to store data, a control unit configured to execute the first type of job and the second type of job using a program stored in the storage unit, and a supply unit configured to supply power to the storage unit and the control unit; setting a first waiting time if the first type of job is input, and setting a second waiting time different from the first waiting time if the second type of job is input; and power controlling to, (1) stop power supply to the control unit but maintain power supply to the storage unit after the first type of job is executed by the control unit, and then stop power supply to the storage unit after the set first waiting time elapses, and (2) stop power supply to the control unit but maintain power supply to the storage unit after the second type of job is executed by the control unit, and then stop power supply to the storage unit after the set second waiting time elapses, wherein the first type of job is an inquiry job to inquire about device information of the information processing apparatus stored in the storage unit and the second type of job is a print job to cause a print unit to print an image on a sheet.
