A method, comprising: initiating a live television (TV) application associated with an intelligent TV; determining, via a processor associated with the intelligent TV and prior to enabling full functionality of the live TV application, that a setup of one of three or more channel sets associated with the live TV application is required, wherein a first channel set is associated with a digital television signal and a second channel set is associated with an analog television signal; presenting, via a display of the intelligent TV, a first setup option dialog, wherein the first setup option presents: a first selection to detect the first channel set associated with a digital television signal; a second selection to detect the second channel set associated with an analog television signal; and a third selection to detect a third channel set associated with one of a cable provider, a satellite provider, an Internet provider, and a multiple-system operator (MSO); receiving a selection of the first setup option dialog associated with the first channel set; scanning at least one signal source associated with the first channel set for two or more live TV channels; detecting the two or more live TV channels associated with the first channel set; enabling at least partial functionality of the live TV application upon detecting the two or more live TV channels of the first channel set, wherein the at least partial functionality of the live TV application is associated with the detected two or more live TV channels of the first channel set; in response to and after detecting the two or more live TV channels associated with the first channel set, presenting, via the display of the intelligent TV, a second setup option dialog, the second setup option dialog presenting: the second selection to detect the second channel set; and a fourth selection to switch to the first channel set; receiving a selection of the second setup option dialog associated with the second channel set; scanning at least one signal source associated with the second channel set for two or more live TV channels; and detecting the two or more live TV channels associated with the second channel set.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein presenting the first setup option dialog includes presenting a second option dialog, wherein the second setup option dialog is associated with a second channel set of the one or more channel sets, and wherein the second option dialog is presented, via the display of the intelligent TV, at the same time as the first setup option dialog.
3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the selection of the first setup option dialog is made automatically via the processor associated with the intelligent TV.
4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the selection of the first setup option dialog is made in response to detecting an input received at the intelligent TV via a remote control associated with the intelligent TV.
5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one signal source includes at least one of an over-the-air broadcast medium, a digital TV channel source, an analog TV channel source, the Internet, a satellite provider, a cable provider, and a multiple-system operator.
6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: presenting, via the display of the intelligent TV, a first switch option associated with the first channel set, wherein a selection of the first switch option tunes the intelligent TV to the detected one or more live TV channels of the first channel set; and presenting, via the display of the intelligent TV, a second setup option dialog, wherein the second setup option dialog is associated with a second channel set of the one or more channel sets.
7. The method of claim 6 , further comprising: selecting the first switch option associated with the first channel set; and tuning the intelligent TV to the one or more live TV channels of the first channel set.
8. The method of claim 6 , further comprising: selecting the second setup option dialog associated with the second channel set; scanning at least one signal source associated with the second channel set for one or more live TV channels; detecting the one or more live TV channels associated with the second channel set; and enabling at least partial functionality of the live TV application upon detecting the one or more live TV channels of the second channel set, wherein the at least partial functionality of the live TV application is associated with the detected one or more live TV channels of the second channel set.
9. The method of claim 8 , further comprising: enabling the full functionality of the live TV application upon scanning all channel sets of the one or more channel sets associated with the live TV application.
10. A tangible, non-transitory computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a processor, perform the method comprising: initiating a live television (TV) application associated with an intelligent TV; determining, via a processor associated with the intelligent TV and prior to enabling full functionality of the live TV application, that a setup of at least one of three or more channel sets associated with the live TV application is required; presenting, via a display of the intelligent TV, a first setup option dialog, wherein the first setup option dialog presents: a first selection to detect a first channel set, wherein the first channel set is associated with a digital television signal; a second selection to detect a second channel set associated with an analog television signal; and a third selection to detect a third channel set associated with one of a cable provider, a satellite provider, an Internet provider, and a multiple-system operator (MSO); receiving selection of the first selection associated with the first channel set; scanning at least one signal source associated with the first channel set for two or more live TV channels; detecting the two or more live TV channels associated with the first channel set; enabling at least partial functionality of the live TV application upon detecting the two or more live TV channels of the first channel set, wherein the at least partial functionality of the live TV application is associated with the detected two or more live TV channels of the first channel set; in response to and after detecting the two or more live TV channels associated with the first channel set, presenting, via the display of the intelligent TV, a second setup option dialog, the second setup option dialog presenting: the second selection to detect the second channel set; a fourth selection to switch to the first channel set; receiving a selection of the second setup option dialog associated with the second channel set; scanning at least one signal source associated with the second channel set for two or more live TV channels; and detecting the two or more live TV channels associated with the second channel set.
11. The tangible, non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 10 , wherein presenting the first setup option dialog includes presenting a second option dialog, wherein the second setup option dialog is associated with a second channel set of the one or more channel sets, and wherein the second option dialog is presented, via the display of the intelligent TV, at the same time as the first setup option dialog.
12. The tangible, non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the selection of the first setup option dialog is made automatically via a processor associated with the intelligent TV.
13. The tangible, non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the selection of the first setup option dialog is made in response to detecting an input received at the intelligent TV via a remote control associated with the intelligent TV.
14. The tangible, non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the at least one signal source includes at least one of an over-the-air broadcast medium, a digital TV channel source, an analog TV channel source, the Internet, a satellite provider, a cable provider, and a multiple-system operator.
15. The tangible, non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the method further comprises: presenting, via the display of the intelligent TV, a first switch option associated with the first channel set, wherein a selection of the first switch option tunes the intelligent TV to the detected one or more live TV channels of the first channel set; and presenting, via the display of the intelligent TV, a second setup option dialog, wherein the second setup option dialog is associated with a second channel set of the one or more channel sets.
16. The tangible, non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the method further comprises: selecting the first switch option associated with the first channel set; and tuning the intelligent TV to the one or more live TV channels of the first channel set.
17. The tangible, non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the method further comprises: selecting the second setup option dialog associated with the second channel set; scanning at least one signal source associated with the second channel set for one or more live TV channels; detecting the one or more live TV channels associated with the second channel set; and enabling at least partial functionality of the live TV application upon detecting the one or more live TV channels of the second channel set, wherein the at least partial functionality of the live TV application is associated with the detected one or more live TV channels of the second channel set.
18. The tangible, non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the method further comprises: enabling the full functionality of the live TV application upon scanning all channel sets of the one or more channel sets associated with the live TV application.
19. A system, comprising: an intelligent television (TV) having a display and a tuner, wherein the tuner is configured to receive and convert broadcast content signals to be displayed by the display; an input device associated with the intelligent TV; a memory; and a microprocessor operable to: initiate a live TV application associated with the intelligent TV; determine, prior to enabling full functionality of the live TV application, that a setup of at least one of three or more channel sets associated with the live TV application is required, wherein a first channel set is associated with a digital television signal and a second channel set is associated with an analog television signal; present, via the display of the intelligent TV, a first setup option dialog, wherein the first setup option presents: a first selection to detect the first channel set associated with a digital television signal; a second selection to detect the second channel set associated with an analog television signal; and a third selection to detect a third channel set associated with one of a cable provider, a satellite provider, an Internet provider, and a multiple-system operator (MSO); receive a selection for the first selection associated with the first channel set; scan at least one signal source associated with the first channel set for two or more live TV channels; detect the two or more live TV channels associated with the first channel set; enable at least partial functionality of the live TV application upon detecting the two or more live TV channels of the first channel set, wherein the at least partial functionality of the live TV application is associated with the detected two or more live TV channels of the first channel set; in response to and after detecting the two or more live TV channels associated with the first channel set, present, via the display of the intelligent TV, a second setup option dialog, the second setup option dialog presenting: the second selection to detect the second channel set; and a fourth selection to switch to the first channel set; receive a selection of the second setup option dialog associated with the second channel set; scan at least one signal source associated with the second channel set for two or more live TV channels; and detect the two or more live TV channels associated with the second channel set.
20. The system of claim 19 , wherein the selection of the first setup option dialog is made in response to detecting an input received at the intelligent TV via the input device.
