Legal claims defining the scope of protection, as filed with the USPTO.

1

1. A method of wireless communication of a user equipment (UE), comprising: receiving a broadcast announcement; communicating based on the broadcast announcement, wherein at least one field of the broadcast announcement is at least one of integrity protected or encrypted based on a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Server (MBMS) service key (MSK) known by the UE and stored on a smartcard in the UE, wherein the broadcast announcement is a user service discovery/announcement; decrypting the broadcast announcement based on the MSK when the broadcast announcement is encrypted; and verifying an integrity of the broadcast announcement based on the MSK when the broadcast announcement is integrity protected, wherein the communicating occurs based on the broadcast announcement when the integrity of the broadcast announcement is verified.

2

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the user service discovery/announcement comprises a reception report configuration and an address of a server, and the communicating based on the broadcast announcement comprises sending a reception report to the server based on the address and the reception report configuration.

3

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the reception report is sent through a secure connection.

4

4. The method of claim 2 , wherein the reception report is at least one of integrity protected or encrypted based on a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Server (MBMS) registration key (MRK).

5

5. An apparatus for wireless communication of a user equipment (UE), comprising: means for receiving a broadcast announcement; means for communicating based on the broadcast announcement, wherein at least one field of the broadcast announcement is at least one of integrity protected or encrypted based on a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Server (MBMS) service key (MSK) known by the UE and stored on a smartcard in the UE, wherein the broadcast announcement is a user service discovery/announcement; means for decrypting the broadcast announcement based on the MSK when the broadcast announcement is encrypted; and means for verifying an integrity of the broadcast announcement based on the MSK when the broadcast announcement is integrity protected, wherein the means for communicating communicates based on the broadcast announcement when the integrity of the broadcast announcement is verified.

6

6. The apparatus of claim 5 , wherein the user service discovery/announcement comprises a reception report configuration and an address of a server, and the means for communicating communicates based on the broadcast announcement by sending a reception report to the server based on the address and the reception report configuration.

7

7. The apparatus of claim 6 , wherein the reception report is sent through a secure connection.

8

8. The apparatus of claim 6 , wherein the reception report is at least one of integrity protected or encrypted based on a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Server (MBMS) Request key (MRK) or MBMS User Key (MUK).

9

9. An apparatus for wireless communication of a user equipment (UE), comprising: a memory and; at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to: receive a broadcast announcement; communicate based on the broadcast announcement, wherein at least one field of the broadcast announcement is at least one of integrity protected or encrypted based on a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Server (MBMS) service key (MSK) known by the UE and stored on a smartcard in the UE, wherein the broadcast announcement is a user service discovery/announcement; decrypt the broadcast announcement based on the MSK when the broadcast announcement is encrypted; and verify an integrity of the broadcast announcement based on the MSK when the broadcast announcement is integrity protected, wherein the at least one processor communicates based on the broadcast announcement when the integrity of the broadcast announcement is verified.

10

10. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the user service discovery/announcement comprises a reception report configuration and an address of a server, and the at least one processor communicates based on the broadcast announcement by sending a reception report to the server based on the address and the reception report configuration.

11

11. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the reception report is sent through a secure connection.

12

12. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the reception report is at least one of integrity protected or encrypted based on a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Server (MBMS) registration key (MRK).

13

13. A non-transitory computer-readable medium of storing computer executable code for wireless communication a user equipment (UE), comprising: code for receiving a broadcast announcement; code for communicating based on the broadcast announcement, wherein at least one field of the broadcast announcement is at least one of integrity protected or encrypted based on a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Server (MBMS) service key (MSK) known by the UE and stored on a smartcard in the UE, wherein the broadcast announcement is a user service discovery/announcement; code for decrypting the broadcast announcement based on the MSK when the broadcast announcement is encrypted; and code for verifying an integrity of the broadcast announcement based on the MSK when the broadcast announcement is integrity protected, wherein the means for communicating communicates based on the broadcast announcement when the integrity of the broadcast announcement is verified.
