Legal claims defining the scope of protection, as filed with the USPTO.
1. A display apparatus, comprising: a base layer having a first portion, a bend portion extended from the first portion and a second portion extended from the bend portion, wherein the entirety of the bend portion is curved; an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display unit disposed on an outer surface of the first portion of the base layer; an encapsulation over the OLED display unit; a printed circuit film attached to the second portion of the base layer; wire traces extending between the printed circuit film and the OLED display unit on the base layer; and a micro-coating layer disposed over the bend portion of the base layer, wherein the micro-coating layer is arranged to cover the wire traces on the base layer and a part of the encapsulation disposed on the first portion of the base layer in a direction perpendicular to the outer surface.
2. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the micro-coating layer is arranged to cover a part of the printed circuit film attached on the second portion of the base layer.
3. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the base layer includes a light blocking material that hinders the light to pass through.
4. The display apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a first support film attached on an inner surface of the first portion of the base layer and a second support film attached on an inner surface of the second portion of the base layer, wherein the first support film and the encapsulation are arranged such that the first support film is extended further out toward the bend portion of the base layer than the encapsulation.
5. The display apparatus of claim 4 , wherein one or both of the first support film and the second support film have a flange extending toward the bend portion of the base layer.
6. The display apparatus of claim 4 , further comprising a support member interposed between the first support film and the second support film, the support member having a planar body portion and a rounded end portion in which the rounded end portion being arranged toward the bend portion of the base layer.
7. The display apparatus of claim 6 , further comprising a first adhesive layer on a surface of the body portion that faces the first portion of the base layer and second adhesive layer on a surface of the body portion that faces the second portion of the base layer.
8. The display apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the support member is made of a plastic material.
9. The display apparatus of claim 8 , wherein a thickness of the rounded end portion of the support member is greater than a thickness of the planar body portion of the support member.
10. The display apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the rounded end portion of the support member has a hemispherical shape with a center shifted toward the first portion of the base layer from a central axis of the body portion.
11. The display apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the rounded end portion of the support member has a hemispherical shape with a part of the rounded end being positioned above a central axis of the body portion and another part of the rounded end being positioned below the central axis of the body portion.
12. The display apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the part of the rounded end portion that is positioned above the central axis of the body portion of the support member is larger than the part of the rounded end portion that is positioned below the central axis of the body portion of the support member.
13. The display apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the first adhesive layer is thicker than the second adhesive film.
14. The display apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the first adhesive layer includes a pad layer interposed between two adhesive layers.
15. The display apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the pad layer interposed between the two adhesive layers is a polyolefin foam layer.
16. The display apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the support member is formed of a sheet of a stainless steel.
