1

1. An apparatus comprising: processing circuitry to: process one or more received messages that are to indicate: a plurality of measurement types, associated with reception of signals from a wireless cell, and at least one time slot corresponding to a transmission gap in which at least two measurements of the plurality of measurement types are to be performed; and cause transmission of at least one value associated with at least one measurement of the plurality of measurement types; and measurement circuitry, coupled with the processing circuitry, to compute at least two values, including the at least one value, based on performance of the at least two measurements of the plurality of measurement types in the transmission gap.

2

2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the processing circuitry is to select a first measurement type of the plurality of measurement types for the measurement circuitry to perform in the transmission gap.

3

3. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of measurement types includes an inter-frequency measurement.

4

4. The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the inter-frequency measurement is associated with a Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) measurement or a Reference Signal Received Quality (RSRQ) measurement.

5

5. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of measurement types includes an inter-radio access technology (RAT) measurement.

6

6. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the apparatus is a user equipment (UE).

7

7. A communication device comprising: first circuitry to process one or more wireless communication messages that are to indicate a plurality of measurement types and indicate a plurality of time slots in which a plurality of measurements of the plurality of measurement types are to be performed; and second circuitry, coupled with the first circuitry, to perform the plurality of measurements of the plurality of measurement types in a transmission gap that includes the plurality of time slots.

8

8. The communication device of claim 7 , further comprising: third circuitry, coupled with the second circuitry, to transmit a result of at least one of the plurality of measurements of the plurality of measurement types.

9

9. The communication device of claim 7 , wherein at least one of the plurality of measurement types is an inter-radio access technology (RAT) measurement or an inter-frequency measurement.

10

10. The communication device of claim 9 , wherein at least one of the plurality of measurements is a Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) measurement or a Reference Signal Received Quality (RSRQ) measurement.

11

11. The communication device of claim 7 , wherein the second circuitry is to select the plurality of measurement types to measure.

12

12. The communication device of claim 7 , wherein the communication device is a user equipment (UE) adapted to communicate according to a Long Term Evolution (LTE) standard.

13

13. One or more non-transitory computer-readable media comprising computing device-executable instructions, wherein the instructions, in response to execution by a user equipment (UE), cause the UE to: process at least one wireless communication message that is to indicate a plurality of measurement types and further indicate one or more time slots in which measurements of at least two measurement types of the plurality of measurement types are to be performed; measure a first value and a second value of the at least two measurement types in a transmission gap that includes the one or more time slots; and transmit at least one of the first value and the second value of the at least two measurement types.

14

14. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 13 , wherein the transmission gap is a time period during which the UE is not scheduled to receive or transmit.

15

15. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 13 , wherein the at least two measurement types includes at least one of an inter-frequency measurement or an inter-radio access technology (RAT) measurement.

16

16. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 15 , wherein at least one of the first value or the second value is based on a Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) measurement or a Reference Signal Received Quality (RSRQ) measurement.

17

17. An apparatus to be included in a base station, the apparatus comprising: message generation circuitry to: generate one or more messages that indicate a plurality of measurements types, associated with reception of signals from a wireless cell, that are to be performed by a user equipment (UE) and indicate at least one time slot corresponding to a transmission gap at the UE in which the plurality of measurement types are to be performed, and cause transmission of the one or more messages to the UE; and processing circuitry, coupled with the message generation circuitry, to process a plurality of measurements for the plurality of measurement types, the plurality of measurements to be received from the UE based on the one or more messages.

18

18. The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein at least one of the plurality of measurement types is an inter-radio access technology (RAT) measurement or an inter-frequency measurement.

19

19. The apparatus of claim 18 , wherein at least one of the plurality of measurements is associated with Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) measurement or a Reference Signal Received Quality (RSRQ) measurement.

20

20. The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein the one or more messages indicate priorities associated with the plurality of measurement types to facilitate selection of one or more measurement types by the UE.

21

21. The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein the at least one time slot is associated with a transmission gap during which the processing circuitry has not scheduled any downlink transmissions to the UE.
