Legal claims defining the scope of protection, as filed with the USPTO.
1. A method for monitoring a mobile device, comprising: sending, by a host device at an emergency location, an emergency request to an emergency service center; and providing, by the host device at the emergency location in response to the emergency request, a query to the mobile device for determining capabilities associated with the mobile device, wherein determining the capabilities associated with the mobile device comprises utilizing the host device to determine what parameters the mobile device can monitor; wherein the query is a user-specific query message pre-selected by a user, such that the host device transmits the user-specific query message to the mobile device at the emergency location, the user-specific query message being configured to cause the host device to receive an electronic password from the mobile device, the electronic password being configured to enable remote control of the mobile device; wherein the mobile device is remotely controlled, via the host device, based on the capabilities associated with the mobile device.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein determining the capabilities comprises determining a type of monitored information generated by the mobile device; wherein the host device is a single device operatively connected to a first network and a second network such that the host device communicates with the emergency service center via the first network and the host device communicates with the mobile device via the second network.
3. The method of claim 2 , wherein determining the capabilities comprises determining a form in which the monitored information is available from the mobile device.
4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the emergency request is routed by the host device from the mobile device to the emergency service center; and wherein the host device permits communication of the emergency service center with the mobile device via a network.
5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising permitting remote control of the capabilities of the mobile device.
6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the mobile device is a medical device.
7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the medical device monitors biological functions of the user including blood pressure and heart rate.
8. The method of claim 7 , further comprising permitting remote monitoring of the medical device.
9. The method of claim 6 , further comprising permitting remote monitoring of biological parameters of the medical device.
10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the mobile device is a camera; wherein the host device is configured to both send the emergency request to the emergency service center and provide the query to the mobile device.
11. A method for monitoring a mobile device, comprising: sending, by the mobile device at an emergency location, via a host device, an emergency request to an emergency service center; and receiving, by the mobile device at the emergency location, via the host device, a query for determining capabilities associated with the mobile device in response to the emergency request, wherein the query allows the emergency service center to utilize the host device in order to determine what parameters the mobile device can monitor; wherein the query is a user-specific query message pre-selected by a user, such that the host device transmits the user-specific query message to the mobile device at the emergency location, the user-specific query message being configured to cause the host device to receive an electronic password from the mobile device, the electronic password being configured to enable remote control of the mobile device; wherein remote control of the mobile device is enabled in order to monitor the mobile device based on determining the capabilities associated with the mobile device.
12. The method of claim 11 , wherein determining the capabilities comprises determining a type of monitored information generated by the mobile device; wherein the host device is a single device operatively connected to a first network and a second network such that the host device communicates with the emergency service center via the first network and the host device communicates with the mobile device via the second network.
13. The method of claim 12 , wherein determining the capabilities comprises determining a form in which the monitored information is available from the mobile device.
14. The method of claim 11 , wherein the emergency request is received by the mobile device from the emergency service center.
15. The method of claim 1 , wherein the emergency location is a household of the user; and wherein the mobile device is at the emergency location with the host device.
16. The method of claim 1 , wherein the emergency request is a selection from a group consisting of a voice message, and an electronic message; and wherein the host device comprises telephone capabilities.
17. The method of claim 1 , wherein the query is a sequence of predetermined alphanumeric digits.
