Legal claims defining the scope of protection, as filed with the USPTO.
1. A method, comprising: collecting, at a first computer, first configuration settings stored at a client computer, the first configuration settings related to at least one of one or more central processing units (CPUs) in the client computer, memory in the client computer, or an operating system installed on the client computer; comparing, at the first computer, the first configuration settings to reference configuration settings to determine whether to update the first configuration settings at the client computer; determining whether one or more configuration settings updates require restarting the client computer; and sending the one or more configuration settings updates from the first computer to the client computer based on the comparison of the first configuration settings to the reference configuration settings and based on the determination of whether the one or more configuration settings updates require the restarting of the client computer.
2. A method as defined in claim 1 , wherein sending the one or more configuration settings updates to the client computer is performed when sending the one or more configuration settings updates to multiple second client computers and the client computer.
3. A method as defined in claim 1 , further including presenting the first configuration settings of the client computer on a user interface.
4. A method as defined in claim 1 , wherein the collecting of the first configuration settings stored at the client computer includes receiving the first configuration settings from a client module running on the client computer.
5. A method as defined in claim 1 , wherein the collecting of the first configuration settings stored at the client computer is performed in parallel with obtaining a plurality of second configuration settings from a plurality of second client computers.
6. A method as defined in claim 1 , wherein the sending of the one or more configuration settings updates from the first computer to the client computer includes sending only one of the configuration settings updates, the one of the configuration settings updates corresponding to a particular one of the first configuration settings that needs to be updated.
7. A method as defined in claim 1 , wherein the first configuration settings include at least one of user configurable settings or hardware settings.
8. A method as defined in claim 1 , wherein the first configuration settings are current configuration settings stored at the client computer.
9. A method as defined in claim 1 , wherein the sending of the one or more configuration settings updates to the client computer is to cause an update to at least a portion of the first configuration settings in the client computer based on at least one of the one or more configuration settings updates.
10. A system, comprising: a first computing device including first logic to: compare an up-to-date version of a system configuration with a second system configuration version of a second computing device to determine whether to update the second computing device; determine whether the up-to-date version of the system configuration requires restarting the second computing device; and send the up-to-date version of the system configuration to the second computing device based on the comparison and based on the determination of whether the up-to-date version of the system configuration requires the restarting of the second computing device; and the second computing device including second logic to: send to the first computing device the second system configuration version; and update the second computing device using the up-to-date version of the system configuration received from the first computing device.
11. A system as defined in claim 10 , wherein the first logic at the first computing device is to send the up-to-date version of the system configuration to the second computing device when sending the up-to-date version of the system configuration to multiple third computing devices and the second computing device.
12. A system as defined in claim 10 , wherein the second logic at the second computing device is to run a client module to send the second system configuration version to the first computing device.
13. A system as defined in claim 10 , wherein the second logic at the second computing device is to initiate a restart of the second computing device based on the second logic determining that the update to the second computing device involves a restart of the second computing device.
14. A system as defined in claim 10 , wherein the second system configuration version includes at least one of a user configurable setting or a hardware setting of the second computing device.
15. A system as defined in claim 10 , wherein the first logic at the first computing device is to monitor a plurality of third system configuration versions installed on a plurality of third computing devices in communication with the first computing device.
16. A system as defined in claim 10 , wherein the second system configuration version includes current configuration settings stored at the second computing device.
17. A system as defined in claim 10 , wherein the first computing device is a server computing device, and the second computing device is a client computing device.
18. At least one machine readable storage device comprising instructions that, when executed, cause one or more processors to at least: obtain a first system configuration utilized by a client computing device; compare the first system configuration with an up-to-date version of a system configuration to determine whether to update the first system configuration; determine whether the up-to-date version of the system configuration requires restarting the client computing device; and send the up-to-date version of the system configuration to the client computing device based on the comparison of the first system configuration with the up-to-date version of the system configuration and based on the determination of whether the up-to-date version of the system configuration requires the restarting of the client computing device.
19. At least one machine readable storage device as defined in claim 18 , wherein the first system configuration includes at least one of a user configurable setting or a hardware setting of the client computing device.
20. At least one machine readable storage device as defined in claim 18 , wherein the first system configuration includes current configuration settings stored at the client computing device.
