1. A method performed by a terminal for receiving a reference signal (RS) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising: receiving, from a base station, a control message including first information indicating that a first channel and a second channel share an a first RS on the first channel, and second information configuring a first transmission mode for the first channel and a second transmission mode for the second channel; receiving the first RS on the first channel; identifying whether a the first transmission mode for the first channel and a the second transmission mode for the second channel support a sharing of the received first RS received on the first channel; and receiving, in case that the first transmission mode for the first channel and the second transmission mode for the second channel support the sharing of the received first RS received on the first channel, data on the second channel based on the first RS received on the first channel; and receiving, in case that the first transmission mode for the first channel and the second transmission mode for the second channel do not support the sharing of the first RS received on the first channel, the data on the second channel based on a second RS received on the second channel.

2

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the control message comprises a radio resource control (RRC) signaling, and wherein the control message further includes information on a number of antenna ports to share the first RS received on the first channel.

3

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the first RS is received on the first channel based on a first antenna port, and the second RS is received on the second channel based on a second antenna port, wherein a the first antenna port for the first channel and a the second antenna port for the second channel are different from each other, and wherein the first antenna port and the second antenna port are quasi co-located.

4

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the first channel is a control channel, and the second channel is a data channel, and wherein the first channel and the second channel are received in a slot.

5

5. A terminal for receiving a reference signal (RS) in a wireless communication system, the terminal comprising: a transceiver configured to transmit and receive signals; and a controller configured to: receive, from a base station, a control message including first information indicating that a first channel and a second channel share an a first RS on the first channel and second information configuring a first transmission mode for the first channel and a second transmission mode for the second channel, receive the first RS on the first channel, identify whether a the first transmission mode for the first channel and a the second transmission mode for the second channel support a sharing of the received first RS received on the first channel, and receive, in case that the first transmission mode for the first channel and the second transmission mode for the second channel support the sharing of the received first RS received on the first channel, data on the second channel based on the first RS received on the first channel, and receive, in case that the first transmission mode for the first channel and the second transmission mode for the second channel do not support the sharing of the first RS received on the first channel, the data on the second channel based on a second RS received on the second channel.

6

6. The terminal of claim 5, wherein the control message comprises a radio resource control (RRC) signaling, and wherein the control message further includes information on a number of antenna ports to share the first RS received on the first channel.

7

7. The terminal of claim 6, wherein the first RS is received on the first channel based on a first antenna port, and the second RS is received on the second channel based on a second antenna port, wherein a the first antenna port for the first channel and a the second antenna port for the second channel are different from each other, and wherein the first antenna port and the second antenna port are quasi co-located.

8

8. The terminal of claim 7, wherein the first channel is a control channel, and the second channel is a data channel, and wherein the first channel and the second channel are received in a slot.

9

9. A method performed by a base station for transmitting a reference signal (RS) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising: transmitting, to a terminal, a control message including first information indicating that a first channel and a second channel share an a first RS on the first channel and second information configuring a first transmission mode for the first channel and a second transmission mode for the second channel; and transmitting the first RS to the terminal on the first channel, wherein, in case that a the first transmission mode for the first channel and a the second transmission mode for the second channel support are identified to support a sharing of the transmitted first RS transmitted on the first channel, the first RS transmitted on the first channel is used for receiving of data on the second channel, and wherein, in case that the first transmission mode for the first channel and the second tranmission mode for the second channel do not support the sharing of the first RS transmitted on the first channel, a second RS transmitted on the second channel is used for receiving the data on the second channel.

10

10. The method of claim 9, wherein the control message comprises a radio resource control (RRC) signaling, and wherein the control message further includes information on a number of antenna ports to share the first RS transmitted on the first channel.

11

11. The method of claim 10, wherein the first RS is transmitted on the first channel based on a first channel based on a first antenna port, and the second RS is transmitted on the second channel based on a second antenna port, wherein a the first antenna port for the first channel and a the second antenna port for the second channel are different from each other, and wherein the first antenna port and the second antenna port are quasi co-located.

12

12. The method of claim 11, wherein the first channel is a control channel, and the second channel is a data channel, and wherein the first channel and the second channel are transmitted in a slot.

13

13. A base station for transmitting a reference signal (RS) in a wireless communication system, the base station comprising: a transceiver configured to transmit and receive signals; and a controller configured to: transmit, to a terminal, a control message including first information indicating that a first channel and a second channel share an a first RS on the first channel and second information configuring a first transmission mode for the first channel and a second transmission mode for the second channel, and transmit the first RS to the terminal on the first channel, wherein in case that a the first transmission mode for the first channel and a the second transmission mode for the second channel support are identified to support a sharing of the transmitted first RS transmitted on the first channel, the first RS transmitted on the first channel is used for receiving of data on the second channel, and wherein, in case that the first transmission mode for the first channel and the second transmission mode for the second channel do not support the sharing of the first RS transmitted on the first channel, a second RS transmitted on the second channel is used for receiving the data on the second channel.
