Methods and systems for playing baccarat jackpot with an option for insurance betting

1. A method of operating a gaming system, said method, comprising: following an establishment, by a processor executing a plurality of instructions, of a credit balance of a betting terminal based, at least in part, on a monetary value associated with a physical item being received via an acceptor of the betting terminal, enabling a first player to place a bet, via a player betting display area of the betting terminal, on a play of a live baccarat game on either a banker's hand to win or a player's hand to win, wherein the play of the live baccarat game is taking place at one of a plurality of gaming tables located remote from the betting terminal, and said credit balance of the betting terminal is decreasable based on the placed bet; displaying, at a video display area of the betting terminal and based on data obtained via an overhead video camera associated with the one gaming table, video of the play of the live baccarat game taking place at the one gaming table; displaying, at a player hand display area of the betting terminal, images associated a first three physical playing cards of the player's hand for the play of the live baccarat game taking place at the one gaming table, said displayed images being determined based on the data obtained via the overhead video camera; displaying, at a banker hand display area of the betting terminal, images associated with a first two physical playing cards of the banker's hand for the play of the live baccarat game taking place at the one gaming table, said displayed images being determined based on the data obtained via the overhead video camera; determining, by the processor executing the plurality of instructions, that an insurance bet for the player's hand is available for the first player to place if any amount of any sum of the first three physical playing cards of the player's hand for the play of the live baccarat game taking place at the one gaming table, is larger than any amount of any sum of the first two physical playing cards of the banker's hand for the play of the live baccarat game taking place at the one gaming table; responsive to a determination that the insurance bet for the player's hand is available based on a sum of the first three physical playing cards of the player's hand for the play of the live baccarat game taking place at the one gaming table being larger than a sum of the first two physical playing cards of the banker's hand for the play of the live baccarat game taking place at the one gaming table, enabling the first player to place the insurance bet for the player's hand responsive to the first player betting on the player's hand to win on the play of the live baccarat game, wherein said credit balance of the betting terminal is decreasable based on the placed insurance bet; responsive to a determination that the insurance bet for the player's hand is unavailable based on the sum of the first three physical playing cards of the player's hand for the play of the live baccarat game taking place at the one gaming table not being larger than the sum of the first two physical playing cards of the banker's hand for the play of the live baccarat game taking place at the one gaming table, not enabling the first player to place the insurance bet for the player's hand responsive to the first player betting on the player's hand to win on the play of the live baccarat game; responsive to the banker's hand winning for the play of the live baccarat game after a third physical playing card is dealt for the banker's hand, determining, by the processor executing the plurality of instructions, an outcome of the insurance bet for the player's hand according to a payout ratio for the insurance bet for the player's hand, wherein: for a first sum of the first three physical playing cards of the player's hand and a first sum of the first two physical playing cards of the banker's hand, the determination is based on a first payout ratio, and for a second, different sum of the first three physical playing cards of the player's hand and the first sum of the first two physical playing cards of the banker's hand, the determination is based on a second, different payout ratio; and determining, based on the dealt physical playing cards, an outcome of the play of the live baccarat game, wherein the credit balance of the betting terminal is increasable based on any award associated with the determined outcome of the play of the live baccarat game.

2. The method of claim 1 , which comprises: enabling at least a second player to place a bet on a jackpot, and determining an outcome of the jackpot according to a combination of physical playing cards that includes at least one zero-point card.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the jackpot is won if at least one of the following combination of physical playing cards is drawn for the play of the live baccarat game taking place at the one gaming table: an Ace card, a King card, a Queen card, a Jack card, and a 10 card, regardless of a suit; the Ace card, the King card, the Queen card, the Jack card, and the 10 card in a spade suit, regardless of a sequence; the King card, the Queen card, the Jack card, and the 10 card in spade; and the Ace card in at least one of a heart suit, a club suit and a diamond suit, regardless of the sequence.

The method of claim 2 , wherein the jackpot is won if at least one of any of the following combination of physical playing cards is drawn for the play of the live baccarat game taking place at the one gaming table: any five cards forming a sequence, regardless of an order they are drawn; five cards of a kind; four cards of a kind, regardless of the order they are drawn; three cards of a kind plus a pair, regardless of the order they are drawn; three cards of a kind, regardless of the order they are drawn; two pairs, regardless of the order they are drawn; all the five cards of the same suit; the first four cards forming a sequence; four cards of a kind from the first four cards drawn; three cards of a kind from the first four cards drawn; a two pair sequence from the first four cards drawn; two cards of a kind of the first four cards drawn; four cards of the same suit from the first four cards drawn; the first three cards drawn forming a sequence; three cards of a kind of the first three cards drawn; two cards of a kind of the first three cards drawn; two cards forming a pair of the first three cards drawn; three cards of the same suit of the first three cards drawn; the first two cards drawn forming a sequence; the first two cards drawn being a pair; and the first two cards drawn being of the same suit.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the bet on the play of the live baccarat game is selected from the group consisting of: a bet on a player's hand win, a bet on a banker's hand win, a tie bet, a bet on a player pair, and a bet on a bank pair, wherein the bet on each of the player's hand win and the bet on the banker's hand win is combinable with at least one of the tie bet, the bet on the player pair and the bet on the bank pair.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: providing an electronic lighting device, wherein said electronic lighting device is lighted to indicate an order a card dealing process.

7. A betting terminal comprising: a plurality of input devices comprising an acceptor; a display device; a processor; and a memory device which stores a plurality of instructions, which when executed by the processor, cause the processor to: responsive to a physical item being received via the acceptor, establish a credit balance based, at least in part, on a monetary value associated with the received physical item, enable a player to place a bet, via a player betting display area, on either a banker's hand to win or the player's hand to win a play of a live baccarat game taking place at a gaming table located remote from the betting terminal, wherein said credit balance is decreasable based on the placed bet, cause the display device to display: at a video display area and based on data obtained via an overhead video camera associated with the gaming table, video of the play of the live baccarat game taking place at the gaming table, at a player hand display area, images associated a first three physical playing cards of the player's hand for the play of the live baccarat game taking place at the gaming table, said displayed images being determined based on the data obtained via the overhead video camera, and at a banker hand display area, images associated with a first two physical playing cards of the banker's hand for the play of the live baccarat game taking place at the gaming table, said displayed images being determined based on the data obtained via the overhead video camera, determine that an insurance bet for the player's hand is available for the player to place if any amount of any sum of the first three physical playing cards dealt for the player's hand at the gaming table is larger than any amount of any sum of the first two physical playing cards dealt for the banker's hand at the gaming table, responsive to the player betting on the player's hand to win on the play of the live baccarat game and responsive to a determination that the insurance bet for the player's hand is available based on a sum of the first three physical playing cards for the player's hand being larger than a sum of the first two physical playing cards for the banker's hand, enable the player to place the insurance bet for the player's hand, wherein said credit balance is decreasable based on the placed insurance bet, responsive to the player betting on the player's hand to win on the play of the live baccarat game and responsive to a determination that the insurance bet for the player's hand is unavailable based on the sum of the first three physical playing cards for the player's hand not being larger than the sum of the first two physical playing cards for the banker's hand, not enabling the player to place the insurance bet for the player's hand, responsive to the banker's hand winning for the play of the live baccarat game after a third physical playing card is dealt for the banker's hand at the gaming table: determine an outcome of the insurance bet for the player's hand according to a payout ratio for the insurance bet for the player's hand, wherein: for a first sum of the first three physical playing cards of the player's hand and a first sum of the first two physical playing cards of the banker's hand, the determination is based on a first payout ratio, and for a second, different sum of the first three physical playing cards of the player's hand and the first sum of the first two physical playing cards of the banker's hand, the determination is based on a second, different payout ratio, cause the display device to display the determined outcome of the insurance bet for the player's hand, and cause the display device to display a determined outcome of the play of the live baccarat game.

The betting terminal of claim 7 , wherein the bet on the play of the live baccarat game is selected from the group consisting of: a bet on a player's hand win, a bet on a banker's hand win, a tie bet, a bet on a player pair, and a bet on a bank pair, wherein the bet on each of the player's hand win and the bet on the banker's hand win is combinable with at least one of the tie bet, the bet on the player pair and the bet on the bank pair.

9. The betting terminal of claim 7 , wherein when executed by the processor, the plurality of instructions cause the processor to: enable a placement of a bet on a jackpot, and determine an outcome of the jackpot according to a combination of physical playing cards that includes at least one zero-point card.

10. The betting terminal of claim 9 , wherein the jackpot is won if at least one of the following combination of physical playing cards is drawn at the gaming table: an Ace card, a King card, a Queen card, a Jack card, and a 10 card, regardless of a suit; the Ace card, the King card, the Queen card, the Jack card, and the 10 card in a spade suit, regardless of a sequence; the King card, the Queen card, the Jack card, and the 10 card in spade; and the Ace card in at least one of a heart suit, a club suit and a diamond suit, regardless of the sequence.

The betting terminal of claim 9 , wherein the jackpot is won if at least one of any of the following combination of physical playing cards is drawn at the gaming table: any five cards forming a sequence, regardless of an order they are drawn; five cards of a kind; four cards of a kind, regardless of the order they are drawn; three cards of a kind plus a pair, regardless of the order they are drawn; three cards of a kind, regardless of the order they are drawn; two pairs, regardless of the order they are drawn; all the five cards of the same suit; the first four cards forming a sequence; four cards of a kind from the first four cards drawn; three cards of a kind from the first four cards drawn; a two pair sequence from the first four cards drawn; two cards of a kind of the first four cards drawn; four cards of the same suit from the first four cards drawn; the first three cards drawn forming a sequence; three cards of a kind of the first three cards drawn; two cards of a kind of the first three cards drawn; two cards forming a pair of the first three cards drawn; three cards of the same suit of the first three cards drawn; the first two cards drawn forming a sequence; the first two cards drawn being a pair; and the first two cards drawn being of the same suit.

The betting terminal of claim 7 , wherein when executed by the processor responsive to the player betting on the player's hand to win on the play of the live baccarat game and responsive to the determination that the insurance bet for the player's hand is available, the plurality of instructions cause the processor to cause the display device to display, for a predetermined period of time, a flashing indication of an availability of the insurance bet.
