Technical Abstract

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a system having a controller to collect one or more user-generated remarks from each of a plurality of computing devices where the one or more user-generated remarks are temporally associated with media content in the form of a gaming session presented at the plurality of computing devices and present the one or more user-generated remarks as an overlay combined with the gaming session as a presentation to at least a set among the plurality of computing devices. Other embodiments are disclosed.

1

1. A method, comprising: receiving, by a processing system including a processor, a recorded play sequence and settings of a gaming session, the recorded play sequence and settings comprising actions made by players' selections relating to the gaming session; transmitting, by the processing system, the recorded play sequence and settings with the players' selections of the gaming session to a first communication device to enable the first communication device to present the recorded play sequence and settings of the gaming session; receiving from the first communication device, by the processing system, communication signals including a link to first user-generated comments associated with a position in the recorded play sequence and settings of the gaming session; extracting, by the processing system, the first user-generated comments via the link; and storing, by the processing system, the first user-generated comments along with second user-generated comments associated with a second communication device and associated with the position in the recorded play sequence of the gaming session.

2

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising transmitting, by the processing system, an overlay that is combined with the recorded play sequence and settings of the gaming session at the first communication device, wherein the overlay includes a plurality of user-generated comments associated with the recorded play sequence and settings.

3

3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising transmitting to the first communication device, by the processing system, game settings associated with the recorded play sequence and settings of the gaming session, wherein the first user-generated comments are further associated with the game settings.

4

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the communication signals are wireless communication signals.

5

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising a drill down feature to facilitate analysis of the players' selections of the gaming session, wherein the first user-generated comments are captured at the first communication device.

6

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the link to the first user-generated comments is an internet address.

7

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the position in the recorded play sequence and settings of the gaming session comprises a range of time within the recorded play sequence.

8

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the recorded play sequence and settings in the gaming session are recorded at a gaming console.

9

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first user-generated comments are stored with a plurality of user-generated comments associated with the recorded play sequence and settings, wherein the gaming session is associated with a virtual world application, and wherein the plurality of user-generated comments includes third user-generated comments that are captured via the virtual world application.

10

10. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: identifying, by the processing system, a third communication device among a plurality of communication devices that generate a plurality of user-generated comments associated with the recorded play sequence and settings of the gaming session; and transmitting, by the processing system, the first user-generated comments to the third communication device that is identified.

11

11. A communication device, comprising: a processing system including a processor; and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, comprising: receiving, from a server, a recorded play sequence and settings of a gaming session, the recorded play sequence and settings comprising actions made by players' selections relating to the gaming session; presenting the recorded play sequence and settings with the gaming session at a display; receiving first user-generated comments associated with a position in the recorded play sequence and settings of the gaming session; and transmitting communication signals to the server including a link to the first user-generated comments associated with the position in the recorded play sequence and settings of the gaming session, wherein the server extracts the first user-generated comments via the link and stores the first user-generated comments along with second user-generated comments associated with a second communication device and associated with the position in the recorded play sequence and settings of the gaming session.

12

12. The communication device of claim 11 , the operations further comprising: receiving an overlay from the server; and combining the overlay with the recorded play sequence and settings of the gaming session, wherein the overlay includes a plurality of user-generated comments associated with the recorded play sequence and settings.

13

13. The communication device of claim 11 , the operations further comprising receiving, from the server, game settings associated with the recorded play sequence and settings of the gaming session, wherein the first user-generated comments are further associated with the game settings.

14

14. The communication device of claim 11 , wherein the communication signals are wireless communication signals.

15

15. The communication device of claim 11 , wherein the link to the first user-generated comments is an internet address.

16

16. The communication device of claim 11 , wherein the position in the recorded play sequence and settings of the gaming session comprises a range of time within the recorded play sequence.

17

17. The communication device of claim 11 , wherein the recorded play sequence and settings in the gaming session are recorded at a gaming console.

18

18. A non-transitory, machine-readable storage medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing system including a processor, facilitate performance of operations, comprising: presenting a recorded play sequence and settings with actions made by gameplay selections relating to a gaming session at a display; receiving first user-generated comments associated with a position in the recorded play sequence and settings of the gaming session; and transmitting communication signals to a server including a link to the first user-generated comments associated with the position in the recorded play sequence and settings of the gaming session, wherein the server extracts the first user-generated comments via the link and stores the first user-generated comments along with second user-generated comments associated with a second communication device and associated with the position in the recorded play sequence and settings of the gaming session.

19

19. The non-transitory, machine-readable storage medium of claim 18 , the operations further comprising: receiving an overlay from the server; and combining the overlay with the recorded play sequence and settings of the gaming session, wherein the overlay includes a plurality of user-generated comments associated with the recorded play sequence and settings.

20

20. The non-transitory, machine-readable storage medium of claim 18 , the operations further comprising receiving, from the server, game settings associated with the recorded play sequence and settings of the gaming session, wherein the first user-generated comments are further associated with the game settings.
