A personalized way to digitally record a person's physical activities over time serves web searching, business advertising, nostalgia, security and object tracing purposes. The chronological digital history of the person's physical presence over a time includes (i) digital network entries from other members who hold their portable wireless short range device near the person's device and transmit a URL or other key data and (ii) digital member entries such a digital photograph of a store sign. The digital network entries and digital member entries are automatically transmitted to a database located on a telecommunications network at a time of entry. Advertisers can transmit to members when members enter premises of advertiser's store. Upon sign-up online, the authentication data uniquely associated with an account is provided and key data they want to transmit is associated with the account. Digital histories can be used to improve web searching and networking opportunities.

The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing the application so as to configure the handheld mobile communication device of each individual member of the member network, upon instances of a physical encounter between the individual member and another individual member of the member network, to transmit the key data and location of the individual member and of the other individual member to the processing system automatically as a result of the physical encounter between the two individual members.
10. The method of claim 1 , wherein a search of a physical encounter history of a particular individual member is available to the particular individual member, upon the particular individual member signing in to an account at the processing system.
11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the viewable, searchable, and in at least one mode chronological, physical encounter history on the handheld mobile communication device also includes place data for the physical encounters.
12. A system governing interaction between URL-possessing elements of a physical web that includes a mobile web, the system comprising: a processing system that is connected to a telecommunications network and is configured to provide an account to an individual member of a member network; an application configured to be downloaded onto handheld mobile communication devices of each individual member of the member network, the applications configured upon instances of a physical encounter between the individual member and a stationary vendor member of the member network at a physical premises of the stationary vendor member, the physical premises containing two or more transmitting devices, to transmit key data of the stationary vendor member and key data of the individual member to the processing system automatically as a result of a short range communication from one of the two or more transmitting device to the handheld mobile communication device or from the handheld mobile communication device to the one of the two or more transmitting devices confirming the physical encounter, a location of the individual member at the physical premises determined by a positioning system; each application configured to maintain a viewable, searchable, and in at least one mode chronological, physical encounter history on the handheld mobile communication device that includes key data from multiple stationary vendor members; the processing system including a database of physical encounter histories of members of the member network whose key data was transmitted to the processing system during the physical encounters, the two or more transmitting devices including a first transmitting device in a first location of the physical premises and a second transmitting device in a second location of the physical premises, the key data being a URL or an identifier associated with the URL.
13. The system of claim 12 , wherein a nearest transmitting device to the individual member's handheld mobile communication device is the one of the two or more transmitting devices that sends or receives the short range communication to or from the handheld mobile communication device of the individual member at a time of the physical encounter.
14. The system of claim 12 , wherein a nearest transmitting device to a first individual member's handheld mobile communication device is configured to send or receive the short range communication that confirms a first physical encounter within short range communication of the first location; and wherein a nearest transmitting device to a second individual member's handheld mobile communication device is configured to send or receive the short range communication that confirms a second physical encounter within short range communication of the second location.
