Technical Abstract

A personalized way to digitally record a person's physical activities over time serves web searching, business advertising, nostalgia, security and object tracing purposes. The chronological digital history of the person's physical presence over a time includes (i) digital network entries from other members who hold their portable wireless short range device near the person's device and transmit a URL or other key data and (ii) digital member entries such a digital photograph of a store sign. The digital network entries and digital member entries are automatically transmitted to a database located on a telecommunications network at a time of entry. Advertisers can transmit to members when members enter premises of advertiser's store. Upon sign-up online, the authentication data uniquely associated with an account is provided and key data they want to transmit is associated with the account. Digital histories can be used to improve web searching and networking opportunities.

A computer-implemented method governing interaction between URL-possessing elements of a mobile web, the method comprising: maintaining a processing system that is connected to a telecommunications network and is configured to provide an account to individual members of a member network, each of the individual members having a URL associated with the account, each account storing key data, optionally including the URL, for later transmission to another individual member; providing an application that configures a handheld mobile communication device of each individual member of the member network who is mobile, to, upon instances of a physical encounter between a pair of the URL-possessing elements, the pair including a first individual member and a second individual member, transmit the key data of at least one individual member of the pair and a URL of the first individual member and a URL of the second individual member to the processing system automatically as a result of a short range communication from a handheld mobile communication device of the first individual member to the handheld mobile communication device of the second individual member confirming the physical encounter, a location of each individual member determined by a positioning system, a particular individual member's account configured to allow the particular individual member's physical encounter history to be accumulated from multiple handheld mobile communication devices of the particular individual member over time; the application maintaining a viewable, searchable physical encounter history on each handheld mobile communication device that includes the key data of multiple individual members; and maintaining, using the processing system, a database identifying, by account or URL, the individual members whose key data was transmitted and who received key data during the physical encounters and the key data transmitted, wherein a physical encounter history of the particular individual member includes at least one visual timeline of physical encounters of the particular individual member.

2

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the URL of the particular individual member of the pair is associated with the particular individual member before the physical encounter.

3

3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising the application also configuring the handheld mobile communication device of each individual member to, upon the instances of the physical encounter, transmit the key data that is at least one of (i) a visual image file, (ii) an audiovisual file, (iii) an audio file or (iv) a text file, created by one individual member of the pair of individual members before or during the physical encounter and stored on the handheld mobile communication device of the one individual member or on the processing system.

4

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein one or both of the URL of the first individual member and the URL of the second individual member is a URL of a business.

5

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising including in the short range communication a proposal for the key data of the first individual member to be included in the physical encounter history of the particular individual member.

6

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein in order for the physical encounter to be confirmed, one individual member of the pair of individual members reacts to the short range communication or configures that one individual member's handheld mobile communication device or account to automatically accept the short range communication.

7

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein in order for the physical encounter to be confirmed by one individual member of the pair of individual members, the one individual member reacts to the short range communication by accepting the short range communication.

8

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein a search of a physical encounter history of the particular individual member is available to the particular individual member, upon the particular individual member signing in to the account at the processing system.

9

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the viewable, searchable physical encounter history on the handheld mobile communication device also includes place data for the physical encounters.

10

10. A system governing interaction between URL-possessing elements of a mobile web, the system comprising: a processing system that is connected to a telecommunications network and is configured to provide an account to individual members of a member network, each of the individual members having a URL associated with the account, each account storing key data, optionally including the URL, for later transmission to another individual member; an application configured to be downloaded onto handheld mobile communication devices of each individual member of the member network, the applications configured upon instances of a physical encounter between a pair of the URL-possessing elements, the pair including a first individual member and a second individual member, transmit the key data of at least one individual member of the pair and a URL of the first individual member and a URL of the second individual member to the processing system automatically as a result of a short range communication from a handheld mobile communication device of the first individual member to the handheld mobile communication device of the second individual member confirming the physical encounter, a location of the individual member determined by a positioning system, a particular individual member's account configured to allow the particular individual member's physical encounter history to be accumulated from multiple handheld mobile communication devices of the particular individual member over time; the application configured to maintain a viewable, searchable physical encounter history on the handheld mobile communication device that includes the key data of multiple individual members; the processing system including a database identifying, by account or URL, the individual members whose key data was transmitted and who received key data during the physical encounters and the key data transmitted, wherein a physical encounter history of the particular individual member includes at least one visual timeline of physical encounters of the particular individual member.

11

11. The system of claim 10 , wherein the application also configures the handheld mobile communication device of each individual member to, upon the instances of the physical encounter, transmit the key data, that is at least one of (i) a visual image file, (ii) an audiovisual file, (iii) an audio file or (iv) a text file, created by one individual member of the pair of individual members before or during the physical encounter and stored on the handheld mobile communication device of the one individual member or on the processing system.

12

12. The system of claim 10 , wherein one or both of the URL of the first individual member and the URL of the second individual member is a URL of a business.

13

13. The system of claim 10 , wherein the short range communication includes a proposal for the key data of the first individual member to be included in the physical encounter history of the particular individual member.

14

14. The system of claim 10 , wherein in order for the physical encounter to be confirmed, one individual member of the pair of individual members reacts to the short range communication or configures that one individual member's handheld mobile communication device or account to automatically accept the short range communication.

15

15. The system of claim 10 , wherein in order for the physical encounter to be confirmed by one individual member of the pair of individual members, the one individual member reacts to the short range communication by accepting the short range communication.
