2

2. The device of claim 1 , wherein the presenting comprises presenting first advertisement content prior to presenting the first media content.

3

3. The device of claim 2 , wherein the operations further comprise notifying an advertisement system supplying the first advertisement content that the first media content is being supplied by the first media content service provider, responsive to the notifying, the advertisement system facilitating preventing or decreasing a frequency of presentation of the first advertisement content in relation to second media content supplied by a second media content provider of the plurality of differing media content service providers.

4

4. The device of claim 2 , wherein an advertisement system facilitates selecting the first advertisement content according to metadata associated with the first media content.

5

5. The device of claim 2 , wherein the first advertisement content is supplied by an advertisement system responsive to the first request.

6

6. The device of claim 2 , wherein the operations further comprise: notifying an advertisement system that the first media content is supplied by the first media content service provider, and wherein the advertisement system selects the first advertisement content according to the first request; detecting a second selection of second media content from the first plurality of selectable media content; and notifying the advertisement system that the second media content is supplied by a second media content service provider that differs from the first media content service provider.

7

7. The device of claim 6 , wherein the advertisement system facilitates preventing or decreasing a frequency of presentation of the first advertisement content in relation to the second media content supplied by the second media content service provider.

8

8. The device of claim 6 , wherein the operations further comprise: generating a second request directed to the second media content service provider to deliver the second media content, the advertisement system facilitating a selection of second advertisement content according to the second request and an identity of the second media content service provider, the second advertisement content selected by the advertisement system so as to differ from the first advertisement content to prevent or reduce a frequency of presentation of the first advertisement content in relation to the second media content; responsive to the second request, receiving the second media content from the second media content service provider; and presenting the second advertisement content prior to the second media content.

9

9. The device of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise: detecting a second portable communication device that utilizes a second SIM, the second portable communication device utilized by a second user that differs from the first user; receiving second information associated with the second SIM; obtaining a second user profile from the plurality of user profiles based on the second information associated with the second SIM; and presenting a second GUI with a second plurality of selectable media content that correlates to second preferences identified in the second user profile, wherein the first GUI differs from the second GUI, and wherein the first plurality of selectable media content differs from the second plurality of selectable media content.

10

10. The device of claim 1 , wherein the first information associated with the first SIM comprises an international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) or an international mobile equipment identity (IMEI), wherein the first user profile of the plurality of user profiles is assigned to the IMSI or the IMEI, and wherein other user profiles in the plurality of user profiles are assigned a differing IMSI or differing IMEI.

11

11. The device of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise: monitoring advertisement content directed to other devices in a vicinity of the device; and submitting information to an advertisement system associated with the advertisement content directed to the other devices, wherein the advertisement system facilitates preventing or decreasing a frequency of advertisement content delivered to the device that is similar or same as advertisement content directed to the other devices.

12

12. The device of claim 1 , wherein the first request includes information that identifies the first portable communication device, information that identifies a geographic location of the first portable communication device, and information that identifies a time of the first selection of the first media content.

13

13. The device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of user profiles is stored in the memory.

14

14. The device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of user profiles is stored in a database that is remote from the device, and wherein the operations further comprise: obtaining the first user profile from the database.

15

15. A non-transitory machine-readable medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing system including a processor, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising: receiving information associated with a subscriber identity module (SIM) of a portable communication device; selecting, according to the information associated with the SIM, a user profile selectable from a plurality of user profiles, each user profile in the plurality of user profiles associated with SIM information from a plurality of portable communication devices of differing users, the plurality of portable communication devices including the portable communication device; presenting a graphical user interface with a plurality of selectable media content that correlates to preferences identified in the user profile, each selectable media content of the plurality of selectable media content being associated with a corresponding one of a plurality of differing media content service providers; detecting a selection of media content from the plurality of selectable media content; identifying from the plurality of differing media content service providers a media content service provider that is associated with the media content; submitting a request to the media content service provider associated with the media content, wherein the request includes an identification of the media content, an identification of a user associated with the user profile, subscriber information relating to the user, demographic information relating to the user, psychographic information relating to the user, and information that identifies the media content service provider; responsive to the submitting, receiving the media content from the media content service provider; and presenting advertisement content prior to presenting the media content.

16

16. The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise notifying an advertisement system supplying the advertisement content that the media content is being supplied by the media content service provider, responsive to the notifying, the advertisement system facilitating preventing or decreasing a frequency of presentation of the advertisement content in relation to second media content supplied by a second media content provider of the plurality of differing media content service providers.

17

17. The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein an advertisement system facilitates selecting the advertisement content according to metadata associated with the media content.

18

18. The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the advertisement content is supplied by an advertisement system responsive to the request.

19

19. A method, comprising: receiving, by a processing system including a processor, information associated with a subscriber identity module (SIM) of a portable communication device; selecting, by the processing system according to the information associated with the SIM, a user profile selectable from a plurality of user profiles, each user profile in the plurality of user profiles associated with SIM information from a plurality of portable communication devices of differing users, the plurality of portable communication devices including the portable communication device; presenting, by the processing system, a graphical user interface with a plurality of selectable media content that correlates to preferences identified in the user profile, each selectable media content of the plurality of selectable media content being associated with a corresponding one of a plurality of differing media content service providers; detecting, by the processing system, a selection of media content from the plurality of selectable media content; identifying, by the processing system, from the plurality of differing media content service providers a media content service provider that is associated with the media content; submitting, by the processing system, a request to an advertisement system and the media content service provider associated with the media content, wherein the request includes an identification of the media content, an identification of a user associated with the user profile, subscriber information relating to the user, demographic information relating to the user, psychographic information relating to the user, and information that identifies the media content service provider; responsive to the submitting, receiving, by the processing system, the media content from the media content service provider and advertisement content from the advertisement system; and presenting, by the processing system, the advertisement content prior to presenting the media content.
