Technical Abstract

An audio-visual system may include a housing comprising an open upper end and a storage space, an audio-visual device installed inside the housing and exposable through the open upper end, and a lifting device configured to expose or store the audio-visual device inside the housing through the open upper end. The audio-visual device may include a display, a speaker, and a processor configured to control the audio-visual system to operate in a first mode for outputting media art content while the display is stored in the housing according to a first event, operate in a second mode for outputting audio content through the speaker while part of the display is exposed through the open upper end according to a second event, and operate in a third mode for outputting a visual content while the entire display is exposed through the open upper end according to a third event.

2. The audio-visual device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to: based on the mode for exposing the first and the second portion of the display area through the upper end of the speaker housing being selected, control the actuator to expose the first portion and the second portion of the display area through the upper end of the speaker housing and control the display to display video content on the first portion and the second portion of the display area.

3

3. The audio-visual device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the actuator comprises: a motor; and a lifting unit configured to expose the display the through the upper end of the speaker housing.

4

4. The audio-visual device as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising: a communicator, and wherein the at least one processor is configured to, based on the mode for exposing the first portion of the display area of the display through the upper end of the speaker housing being selected, control the communicator to communicate with a source device providing the audio content or the information relating to the audio content.

5

5. The audio-visual device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the information relating to the audio content being reproduced is a user interface for controlling output of the audio content.

6

6. The audio-visual device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the speaker housing is configured to comprise a storage space for accommodating the speaker inside the speaker housing while the first portion and the second portion of the display area of the display are disposed inside the speaker housing.

7

7. A method for controlling an audio-visual device comprising a speaker housing, a speaker disposed in the speaker housing, a display comprising a display area and configured to be stored inside the speaker housing and an actuator coupled to the display and configured store the display area of the display inside the speaker housing and expose the display area of the display through and upper end of the speaker housing, the method comprising: based on a mode for exposing a first portion of the display area of the display through the upper end of the speaker housing being selected from among a plurality of modes comprising a mode for exposing no portion of the display area of the display, the mode for exposing the first portion of the display area of the display through the upper end of the speaker housing, and a mode for exposing the first portion and a second portion of the display area of the display through the upper end of the speaker housing, controlling the actuator to expose the first portion of the display area of the display through the upper end of the speaker housing; controlling the speaker to reproduce an audio content; and controlling the display to display, on the first portion of the display area of the display, information relating to the audio content being reproduced.

8

8. The method as claimed in claim 7 , further comprising: based on the mode for exposing the first portion and the second portion of the display area of the display through the upper end of the speaker housing being selected, controlling the actuator to expose the first portion and the second portion of the display area of the display through the upper end of the speaker housing and controlling the display to display video content on the first portion and the second portion of the display.

9

9. The method as claimed in claim 7 , wherein the actuator comprises a motor and a lifting unit configured to expose the display through the upper end of the speaker housing.

10

10. The method as claimed in claim 7 , further comprising: based on the mode for exposing the first portion of the display area of the display through the upper end of the speaker housing being selected, communicating with a source device providing the audio content or the information relating to the audio content.

11

11. The method as claimed in claim 7 , wherein the information relating to the audio content being reproduced is a user interface for controlling output of the audio content.

12

12. The method as claimed in claim 7 , wherein the speaker housing is configured to comprise a storage space for accommodating the speaker inside the speaker housing while the first portion and the second portion of the display area of the display are disposed inside the speaker housing.

13

13. An audio-visual device comprising: a speaker housing; a speaker disposed in the speaker housing; a display comprising a display area and configured to be stored inside the speaker housing; and an actuator coupled to the display and configured to store the display area of the display inside the speaker housing and expose the display area of the display through an upper end of the speaker housing, at least one processor configured to: based on a mode being selected from among a plurality of modes including a mode for reproducing an audio content while no portion of the display area of the display is exposed, a mode for reproducing the audio content while a first portion of the display area of the display is exposed through the upper end of the speaker housing and a mode for reproducing a video content while the first portion and a second portion of the display area of the display are exposed through the upper end of the speaker housing, control the actuator to expose the first portion of the display area of the display when the selected mode is the mode for reproducing the audio content while the first portion of the display area of the display is exposed through the upper end of the speaker housing, control the speaker to reproduce the audio content, and control the display to display, on the first portion of the display area of the display, information relating to the audio content being reproduced.
