Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for uplink preemption indication. A method for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving at least one ULPI from a base station (BS) indicating, for each of a plurality of sets of uplink resources, a power level the UE can use for one or more uplink transmissions. The UE can determine one or more power levels indicated by the ULPI for resources allocated for the UE for uplink transmission. The allocated resources may include multiple of the sets of uplink resources. The UE can select the power level to use for uplink transmission using the allocated resources based, at least in part, on the determination. The UE sends or drops the one or more uplink transmissions according to the ULPI. A time duration of the plurality of sets of uplink resources can be longer than a configured ULPI monitoring periodicity.
Legal claims defining the scope of protection, as filed with the USPTO.
3. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein the at least one processor is configured to always apply the second ULPI for the one or more overlapping sets of one or more uplink resources when the first and second ULPIs conflict.
7. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein the configured ULPI monitoring period is less than 2 slots.
8. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the ULPI monitoring period comprises a time duration between a first ULPI monitoring occasion and a second ULPI monitoring occasion.
9. The apparatus of claim 8, the first plurality of sets of one or more uplink resources comprising parts in time and parts in frequency.
10. The apparatus of claim 9, the ULPI comprising a plurality of bits, each of the plurality of bits corresponding to one of the parts in time and parts in frequency.
17. The method of claim 16, wherein determining to apply the first ULPI or the second ULPI comprises always applying the second ULPI for the one or more overlapping sets of one or more uplink resources when the first and second ULPIs conflict.
21. The method of claim 15, wherein the configured ULPI monitoring period is less than 2 slots.
