Technical Abstract

An interface display method of an application is provided. The interface display method of an application may include: displaying a first user interface of the application; and in response to detecting a startup operation for a second user interface of the application, controlling states of components used to display the first user interface and the second user interface as a visible state, so that the first user interface and the second user interface are simultaneously displayed on a display panel, and the second user interface is a sub-interface of the first user interface.

Claim 4

Original Legal Text

4. The interface display method according to claim 1, wherein the first user interface and the second user interface are displayed in a Freeform mode.

Plain English Translation

This invention relates to user interface display methods, specifically for systems that support multiple user interfaces in a Freeform mode. The problem addressed is the need for flexible and efficient display management when multiple user interfaces are active simultaneously, ensuring seamless interaction without overlapping or clutter. The method involves displaying a first user interface and a second user interface in a Freeform mode, where these interfaces can be freely positioned, resized, and arranged by the user. The Freeform mode allows dynamic adjustments to the layout, enabling users to customize their workspace according to their preferences. The interfaces may include windows, panels, or other display elements that can be independently manipulated. The method ensures that the interfaces remain functional and accessible while in Freeform mode, allowing users to switch between them or interact with them without restrictions. The invention may also include features such as snapping mechanisms to align interfaces, minimizing or maximizing interfaces while in Freeform mode, and preserving the state of each interface when switching between them. The goal is to provide a user-friendly experience where multiple interfaces can coexist without disrupting workflow efficiency. This approach is particularly useful in multitasking environments, such as operating systems, productivity software, or collaborative applications.

Claim 12

Original Legal Text

12. The electronic device according to claim 9, wherein the first user interface and the second user interface are displayed in a Freeform mode.

Plain English Translation

This invention relates to electronic devices with user interfaces, specifically addressing the need for flexible and customizable display modes. The device includes a display and a processor configured to present multiple user interfaces, such as a first user interface for a first application and a second user interface for a second application. These interfaces are displayed in a Freeform mode, allowing users to resize, reposition, and overlay them independently. The Freeform mode enables dynamic interaction between applications, such as dragging and dropping content between interfaces or simultaneously viewing and manipulating multiple applications. The processor manages the display of these interfaces, ensuring smooth transitions and proper rendering. The invention enhances multitasking by providing a flexible workspace where users can arrange interfaces according to their workflow, improving productivity and usability. The Freeform mode distinguishes itself from traditional windowed or split-screen modes by offering greater customization and fluid interaction between applications.

Claim 13

Original Legal Text

13. The electronic device according to claim 12, wherein the processor is further configured to hide target control of the sub-interface in user interfaces currently displayed on the display panel.

Plain English Translation

This invention relates to electronic devices with user interfaces that manage the visibility of control elements. The problem addressed is the clutter and potential confusion caused by displaying all available control options simultaneously, which can overwhelm users or obscure primary functions. The solution involves selectively hiding certain control elements, specifically those associated with a sub-interface, when they are not needed or when other interfaces are active. The device includes a display panel and a processor that controls what is shown on the display. The processor is configured to determine when to hide these sub-interface controls based on the current state of the user interface. For example, if the main interface is being used, the sub-interface controls may be hidden to reduce visual clutter. This selective hiding ensures that only relevant controls are visible at any given time, improving usability and reducing distractions. The invention may apply to devices like smartphones, tablets, or other touchscreen devices where screen real estate is limited and user experience is prioritized. The processor dynamically adjusts the visibility of controls to maintain a clean and intuitive interface.
