A method, a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), and a base station are disclosed. The WTRU comprises a receiver, a transmitter, and a processor. The WTRU receives at least one radio resource control (RRC) message indicating an uplink resource for the WTRU and receives grants over first channels associated with the indicated uplink resource. The WTRU transmits uplink data using the indicated uplink resource based on the received grants, and, based on a trigger, deactivates the indicated uplink resource and to stop the reception of grants over the first channels associated with the indicated uplink resource and flush hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) buffers associated with the indicated uplink resource. The base station is configured to communicate with the WTRU.
Legal claims defining the scope of protection, as filed with the USPTO.
2. The WTRU of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured, based on the trigger, to stop transmitting an uplink control channel associated with the indicated uplink resource.
3. The WTRU of claim 1, wherein the trigger is a timer expiring.
4. The WTRU of claim 3, wherein the timer is restarted when a grant is received over one of the first channels.
5. The WTRU of claim 1, wherein the trigger is signaled from a base station to the WTRU.
6. The WTRU of claim 5, wherein the transmitter and the processor are configured to transmit buffer status information to the base station and the trigger is signaled based on the transmitted buffer status information.
7. The WTRU of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured, based on the trigger, to stop reception of a HARQ channel.
8. The WTRU of claim 1, wherein all HARQ buffers associated with the indicated uplink resource are flushed.
10. The method of claim 9, further comprising, based on the trigger, stopping transmission of an uplink control channel associated with the indicated uplink resource.
11. The method of claim 9, wherein the trigger is a timer expiring.
12. The method of claim 11, wherein the timer is restarted when a grant is received over one of the first channels.
13. The method of claim 9, wherein the trigger is signaled from a base station to the WTRU.
14. The method of claim 13, further comprising transmitting buffer status information to the base station and the trigger is signaled based on the transmitted buffer status information.
15. The method of claim 9, further comprising, based on the trigger, to stop reception of a HARQ channel.
16. The method of claim 9, wherein all HARQ buffers associated with the indicated uplink resource are flushed.
18. The base station of claim 17, wherein the processor is configured, based on the trigger, to have the WTRU stop transmitting an uplink control channel associated with the indicated uplink resource.
19. The base station of claim 17, wherein the trigger is a timer expiring.
20. The base station of claim 17, wherein the trigger is signaled from the base station to the WTRU.
21. The base station of claim 20, wherein the receiver and the processor are configured to receive buffer status information from the WTRU and the trigger is signaled based on the received buffer status information.
22. The base station of claim 17, wherein the processor is configured, based on the trigger, to have the WTRU stop reception of a HARQ channel.
23. The base station of claim 17, wherein all HARQ buffers associated with the indicated uplink resource are flushed.
