Kids Golf Clubs Set with Interchangeable Shafts and Backpack Carry Bag with Removable Side Club Tubes

This application claims benefit to U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 63/632,221 filed on Apr. 10, 2024, entitled KIDS GOLF CLUBS SET WITH INTERCHANGEABLE SHAFTS AND BACKPACK CARRY BAG WITH REMOVABLE SIDE TUBES, which is incorporated by reference in its entirety.

The present disclosure relates to golf and golf clubs and equipment for playing golf. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to a kids (or other user, like teen, or adult) golf club set with interchangeable shafts and a backpack carry bag with removable side club tubes.

Generally speaking, a golf club is a club used to hit a golf ball in the game of golf. Each club is composed of a shaft with a grip and a club head. Woods are mainly used for long-distance fairway or tee shots. Irons, the most versatile class, are used for a variety of shots. Hybrids that combine design elements of woods and irons are becoming increasingly popular. Putters are used mainly on the green to roll the ball into the hole. A set of clubs is limited by the rules of golf to a maximum of 14 golf clubs, and while there are traditional combinations sold at retail as matched sets, players are free to use any combination of legal clubs.

For kids, junior clubs and sets, also known as kids clubs and sets, are primarily designed for pre-teens or for kids that are 12 years old or younger. Usually when they reach 60 inches or 5 foot tall, then they no longer fit into junior sized clubs. Typically, for very young golfers or toddlers, a single lofted iron to a 5-piece golf set including a high lofted driver, 7-iron, wedge, putter and golf bag, will suffice. It is typically not recommended to add too many low lofted clubs in the bag because youngsters will not have the clubhead velocity to get them airborne or to create enough distance gaps between consecutive clubs. As they become better, stronger, and start to master the lofted clubs, then it is time when they can add the longer, less lofted clubs to the junior set.

Most junior clubs today are die cast, being made from aluminum for the woods and hybrid club and zinc for the irons and putter. The materials are less expensive to keep the overall cost down. The materials are also softer and will get nicked up more than stainless steel heads. Clubs marketed for teens will be the same materials you find in adult clubs. Another major difference in clubs marketed as junior or kids is that the club heads are often made to lighter head weights as younger kids have not developed the strength to swing adult clubs.

One problem that the instant disclosure recognizes is that kids golf clubs are typically based on broad age groups such as 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. However, not all kids are made the same or grow and develop at the standard pace. As such, the instant disclosure recognized the need to have a more flexible customizable approach to kid's clubs that allow the individual kid to be fitted with proper clubs. The length and weight of the club should be based on height and the athletic ability of the junior golfer. In addition, the flex of the shaft should be configured to fit the strength and ability of the junior golfer. Furthermore, the grip on the shaft should be sized to fit the hand, strength and ability of the junior golfer. If the clubs are too long, too heavy, or too stiff, the ability of the junior golfer to get the desired results will diminish. However, if you fit the junior golfer with proper clubs throughout their development, then they will likely have more fun and have a greater chance of success. Accordingly, fitting junior clubs to the golfer is very important, as the club length, weight, size, etc. should be based on the child's ability and height, rather than an age range.

Another problem that the instant disclosure recognizes is the costs associated with kid clubs, especially considering kids are always growing taller and stronger, thus, the need to replace kid clubs is more frequent than with adult clubs. As such, parents may be concerned that their children will outgrow their clubs over the summer and that the clubs will be too short for the upcoming season, and, thus, typically buy clubs that are too big for their child. This process can stimy the development of the skills of the junior golfer. As such, there is clearly a need to provide a system or method for maintaining properly fitted golf clubs to kids as they change, grow and develop that is more economically feasible to parents than buying a new set at each step of the way as they grow and develop.

Another problem that the instant disclosure recognizes is that kids golf bags are not ideal bags for kids. Most kids golf bags are just smaller versions of adult bags. However, it is common that, even with these smaller versions, kids struggle to carry the weight of these bags at a young age. As such, kids often have problems with carrying their bags properly and often times have clubs spilling out all over the golf course. In addition, kids are frequently coming to the golf course from school or other places with clothes and other items that need to be carried along with their golf clubs. As such, there is clearly a need to provide a kid golf bag that is easier to carry and more versatile in functionality.

The instant disclosure may be designed to address at least certain aspects of the problems or needs discussed above by providing a kids golf club set with interchangeable shafts and a backpack carry bag with removable side club tubes.

The present disclosure may solve the aforementioned limitations of the currently available kid golf clubs, sets and bags, by providing a golf club set with interchangeable shafts and a backpack carry bag with removable side club tubes. The disclosed golf club set with interchangeable shafts and a backpack carry bag with removable side club tubes may generally include a plurality of user sized golf clubs. Each of the user sized golf clubs may include an interchangeable shaft and an interchangeable club head. The disclosed golf club set may also include a backpack carry bag. The backpack carry bag may include a backpack with side club tubes positioned thereon. Each of the side club tubes may be configured to hold at least a portion of the plurality of user sized golf clubs.

One feature of the disclosed golf clubs set may be that the plurality of user sized golf clubs each with the interchangeable shaft and the interchangeable club head may be designed and configured to have the plurality of the user sized golf clubs to have interchangeability to other interchangeable shafts of a varying size. In select embodiments, the varying size of the interchangeable shafts may include, but is not limited to, a varying length, a varying weight, a varying flex, a varying grip, the like, and/or a combination thereof. In select possibly preferred embodiments, the varying size of the interchangeable shafts may include: the varying length, the varying weight, the varying flex, and the varying grip.

Another feature of the disclosed golf clubs set may be that it can be designed and configured to allow an initial purchase of an initial set of the golf clubs set for a user (like a kid, teen or adult), and once the user grows, develops and/or adapts, a new purchase may be made. The new purchase may include a new adjustable shaft for one or more of the plurality of user sized golf clubs to change out from the initial set of the golf clubs set. In select embodiments of the disclosed golf clubs set, a shaft kit may be included. The shaft kit may include a plurality of the new adjustable shafts for each of the plurality of the user sized golf clubs. Wherein, the shaft kit may be designed and configured to allow the initial purchase of the initial set of the golf clubs set for the user, and once the user grows, develops and/or adapts, the new purchase may include the shaft kit for the plurality of user sized golf clubs to change out from the initial set of the golf clubs set.

In select embodiments of the disclosed golf clubs set, the interchangeable shaft and the interchangeable club head of each of the plurality of user sized golf clubs may include a quick disconnect. The quick disconnect may be between a hosel of the interchangeable club head and a distal end of the interchangeable shaft. In select embodiments, the quick disconnect of each of the plurality of user sized golf clubs may include a threaded protrusion extending from the distal end of the interchangeable shaft. An outer threaded opening may also be included in the hosel of the interchangeable club head. Wherein the threaded protrusion extending from the distal end of the interchangeable shaft may be configured to be secured inside of the outer threaded opening in the hosel of the interchangeable club head via rotation. An inner threaded opening may also be included that is positioned in the threaded protrusion extending from the distal end of the interchangeable shaft. A ratcheting screw may also be included. Wherein, the ratcheting screw may be configured to be positioned in a channel of the hosel and secured inside of the inner threaded opening via rotation. In select embodiments of the golf clubs set, the ratcheting screw may include an audible feedback. The audible feedback may be configured to allow an operator to know when the ratcheting screw is properly tightened for securing the hosel of the interchangeable club head onto the distal end of the interchangeable shaft.

In select embodiments of the disclosed golf clubs set, the plurality of the user sized golf clubs may be kids sized golf clubs. The kids sized golf clubs may include the interchangeable shaft and the interchangeable club head. In select embodiments, the kids sized golf clubs may include at least one kids sized iron, at least one kids sized wood, and/or a kids sized putter. Each of the at least one kids sized iron may include an interchangeable iron shaft and an interchangeable iron head. Each of the at least one kids sized wood may include an interchangeable wood shaft and an interchangeable wood head. The kids sized putter may include an interchangeable putter shaft and an interchangeable putter head. In select embodiments, the plurality of the user sized golf clubs with the interchangeable shaft and the interchangeable club head may include: at least one of the kids sized iron, each of the at least one kids sized iron including the interchangeable iron shaft and the interchangeable iron head; at least one of the kids sized wood, each of the at least one kids sized wood including the interchangeable wood shaft and the interchangeable wood head; and the kids sized putter including the interchangeable putter shaft and the interchangeable putter head. As an example, and clearly not limited thereto, in a possibly preferred embodiment, the plurality of the user sized golf clubs with the interchangeable shaft and the interchangeable club head may include: five of the kids sized irons, each of the five kids sized irons including the interchangeable iron shaft and the interchangeable iron head; two of the kids sized woods, each of the two kids sized woods including the interchangeable wood shaft and the interchangeable wood head; and the kids sized putter including the interchangeable putter shaft and the interchangeable putter head.

Another feature of the disclosed golf clubs set may be that the backpack carry bag can be designed and configured to provide a combination of a user (like a kid, teen or adult) sized bookbag and a user (like a kid, teen or adult) sized golf bag. This combination of a user sized bookbag and a user sized golf bag may provide for convenience, comfort, functionality, the like, etc.

In select embodiments of the golf clubs set, each of the side club tubes of the backpack carry bag may include a kickstand leg. Whereby, when the backpack carry bag is positioned on a surface, the kickstand leg of each of the side club tubes may be configured to angle out from the backpack carry bag for stabilizing the backpack carry bag on the surface.

In select embodiments of the golf clubs set, the backpack carry bag may include a first side club tube on a first side of a backpack. Likewise, a second side club tube may be on a second side of the backpack. Wherein, the first side club tube and the second side club tube may be configured to hold the plurality of the user sized golf clubs for use as a kids backpack style golf bag. In addition, the first side club tube and the second side club tube may be configured to be removed from the backpack for use of the backpack as a standard backpack.

In select embodiments of the golf clubs set, each of the side club tubes may include an adjustable tube carrying strap, a ball sleeve tube pocket, and a tee tube pocket. Wherein, another feature of the disclosed golf clubs set may be that each of the side club tubes can be configured to be used as a carry side club tube bag when removed from the backpack.

In select embodiments of the disclosed golf clubs set, the first side club tube may be connected to the first side of the backpack via a first C-channel connection. Wherein, the first side club tube can be slid onto the first side of the backpack and locked into position on the first side of the backpack via the first C-channel connection. Likewise, the second side club tube may be connected to the second side of the backpack via a second C-channel connection. Wherein, the second side club tube can be slid onto the second side of the backpack and locked into position on the second side of the backpack via the second C-channel connection. With this embodiment, the first C-channel connection may be configured to lock the first side club tube in position on the first side of the backpack where the first side club tube extends below a bottom of the backpack. Likewise, the second C-channel connection may be configured to lock the second side club tube in position on the second side of the backpack where the second side club tube extends below the bottom of the backpack. Wherein, when the backpack carry bag is positioned on a surface via the first side club tube and the second side club tube, the first side club tube and the second side club tube are configured to keep the backpack elevated off of the surface. In select embodiments, the first C-channel connection may include a plurality of first locking positions for positioning the first side club tube at various first positions about the first side of the backpack. Likewise, the second C-channel connection may include a plurality of second locking positions for positioning the second side club tube at various second positions about the second side of the backpack. Wherein, the first side club tube and the second side club tube may be configured to be adjustable for adjusting the position of the backpack within the side club tubes. In select embodiment of the disclosed golf clubs set, the first side of the backpack may include a first pocket with a first zipper. The first pocket with the first zipper may be configured to conceal the first C-channel connection on the first side of the backpack when the first side club tube is removed. Likewise, the second side of the backpack may include a second pocket with a second zipper. The second pocket with the second zipper may be configured to conceal the second C-channel connection on the second side of the backpack when the second side club tube is removed.

Another feature of the disclosed golf clubs set may be that the side club tubes can include a length. The length of the side club tubes may be configured for holding the plurality of the user sized golf clubs with the interchangeable shaft and the interchangeable club head. In select embodiments, the side club tubes may be configured to have interchangeability to other side club tubes of varying length. Wherein, when the plurality of user sized golf clubs are equipped with new adjustable shafts, the backpack carry bag may be configured to be equipped with new sides club tubes with the varying lengths configured to hold the new adjustable shafts.

In select embodiments of the disclosed golf clubs set, the backpack carry bag may further include a waterproof material configured for all weather use.

In select embodiments of the disclosed golf clubs set, the backpack carry bag may further include a lightweight design.

In select embodiments of the disclosed golf clubs set, the backpack carry bag may further include kickstands made from a reinforced aluminum material to prevent rust and reduce weight.

In select embodiments of the disclosed golf clubs set, the backpack carry bag may further include an insulated cooler pocket inside the backpack golf bag configured for sports drinks, water and lunch to eliminate the required lunch box accessory for school or golf.

In select embodiments of the disclosed golf clubs set, the backpack carry bag may further include a ball sleeve tube pocket on each of the side club tubes.

In select embodiments of the disclosed golf clubs set, the backpack carry bag may further include a tee tube pocket on each of the side club tubes.

In select embodiments of the disclosed golf clubs set, the backpack carry bag may further include a ball sleeve backpack pocket on the backpack.

In select embodiments of the disclosed golf clubs set, the backpack carry bag may further include a tee backpack pocket on the backpack.

In select embodiments of the disclosed golf clubs set, the backpack carry bag may further include adjustable shoulder straps on a backside of the backpack. In select embodiments, the adjustable shoulder straps may include an adjustable chest strap connected therebetween.

In select embodiments of the disclosed golf clubs set, the backpack carry bag may further include a drink holder on the backside of the backpack.

In select embodiments of the disclosed golf clubs set, the backpack carry bag may further include at least one backpack D-ring on the backpack configured for attaching accessories to the backpack.

In select embodiments of the disclosed golf clubs set, the backpack carry bag may further include at least one tube D-ring on each of the side club tubes configured for attaching golf accessories to the side club tube.

In another aspect the instant disclosure embraces the disclosed golf clubs set in any of the embodiments and/or combination of embodiments shown and/or described herein.

In another aspect, the instant disclosure embraces the disclosed golf clubs set with the plurality of user sized golf clubs, where each of the user sized golf clubs including the interchangeable shaft and the interchangeable club head, in any of the embodiments and/or combinations of embodiments shown and/or described herein.

In another aspect, the instant disclosure embraces the disclosed backpack carry bag in any of the embodiments and/or combinations of embodiments shown and/or described herein.

Golf clubs setmay be designed and configured with interchangeable shaftsand/or backpack carry bagwith removable side club tubes. Golf clubs setmay generally include pluralityof user sized golf clubs. Each of the user sized golf clubsmay include interchangeable shaftand interchangeable club head. Backpack carry bagof golf clubs setmay include side club tubesthat may be configured to hold at least portionof the pluralityof user sized golf clubs.

As best shown in, one feature of golf clubs setmay be that the pluralityof user sized golf clubseach with the interchangeable shaftand interchangeable club headmay be designed and configured to have the pluralityof the user sized golf clubsor kid sized golf clubs(or other users, like teens or adults) to have interchangeability to other interchangeable shaftsof varying size. In select embodiments, varying sizeof interchangeable shaftsmay include, but is clearly not limited to, varying length, varying weight, varying flex, varying grip, the like, and/or any various combinations thereof. In select possibly preferred embodiments, varying sizeof interchangeable shaftsmay include: varying length, varying weight, varying flex, and varying grip. As such, quick disconnectmay be between hoselof interchangeable club headand distal endof various interchangeable shafts. In select embodiments, quick disconnectof each of the pluralityof user sized golf clubsmay include threaded protrusionextending from distal endof interchangeable shaft. Outer threaded openingmay also be included in hoselof interchangeable club head. Wherein, threaded protrusionextending from distal endof interchangeable shaftmay be configured to be secured inside of outer threaded openingin hoselof interchangeable club headvia rotation. Inner threaded openingmay also be included that is positioned in threaded protrusionextending from distal endof interchangeable shaft. Ratcheting screwmay also be included for securing the connection between distal endof interchangeable shaftand hoselof interchangeable club head. Ratcheting screwmay be configured to be positioned in channelof hoseland secured inside of inner threaded openingvia rotation. In select embodiments of golf clubs set, and clearly not limited thereto, ratcheting screwmay include audible feedback. Audible feedbackfrom ratcheting screwmay be designed and/or configured to allow an operator to know when ratcheting screwis properly tightened for securing hoselof interchangeable club headonto distal endof interchangeable shaft.

Referring now specifically to, in select embodiments of golf clubs set, the pluralityof user sized golf clubswith the interchangeable shaftand the interchangeable club headmay be kids sized golf clubs. Kids sized golf clubsmay include at least one kids sized iron, at least one kids sized wood, and/or a kids sized putter. In select possibly preferred embodiments of golf clubs set, the pluralityof kids sized golf clubswith the interchangeable shaftand the interchangeable club headmay include at least one of the kids sized iron, at least one of the kids sized wood, and the kids sized putter. Each of the at least one kids sized ironsmay include interchangeable iron shaftand interchangeable iron head. Each of the at least one kids sized woodsmay include interchangeable wood shaftand interchangeable wood head. Kids sized puttermay include interchangeable putter shaftand interchangeable putter head. The pluralityof user sized golf clubsmay be designed and configured with any various numbers of kids sized irons(including, but not limited to, any iron-, any wedge (pitching wedge, sand wedge, gap wedge, etc.), any hybrid, or the like), kids sized woods(including any driver or wood-, or the like), and/or kids sized putters(including any style putter, like blade, mallet, etc.). In select embodiments, the pluralityof user sized golf clubswith interchangeable shaftand interchangeable club headmay include: at least one of the kids sized iron; at least one of the kids sized wood; and one of the kids sized putter. As an example, and clearly not limited thereto, as shown in the Figures, in a possibly preferred embodiment, the pluralityof the kids sized golf clubswith the interchangeable shaftand the interchangeable club headmay include: five of the kids sized irons; two of the kids sized woods; and one of the kids sized putters.

Referring now specifically to, another feature of golf clubs setmay be that backpack carry bagcan be designed and configured to provide a combination of user sized bookbagand user sized golf bag. This combination of user sized bookbagand user sized golf bagmay provide for convenience, comfort, functionality, the like, etc. for kids (or teens or adults), not only as they are on the golf course or practice facilities, but also in traveling to and from the golf course or other activities leading up to golf.

As best shown in, in select embodiments of golf clubs set, each of the side club tubesof backpack carry bagmay include kickstand leg. Kickstand legmay be designed and used similar to standard kickstand legs of known carry golf bags. As such, when backpack carry bagis positioned on surface, like the ground or other surface, kickstand legof each of the side club tubesmay be configured to angle out from backpack carry bagfor stabilizing backpack carry bagon surface.

As shown in, in select embodiments of golf clubs set, backpack carry bagmay include first side club tubeon first sideof backpack. Likewise, second side club tubemay be on second sideof backpack. Wherein, first side club tubeand second side club tubemay be configured to hold the pluralityof user sized golf clubsfor use as a kids backpack style golf bag(See. In addition, in select embodiments, first side club tubeand second side club tubemay be configured to be removed from backpackfor use of backpackas standard backpack(see). However, the disclosure is not so limited, and side club tubesmay also be configured to be affixed to backpack. In addition, side club tubesmay be configured to be removable from backpackby any various means or mechanisms. Referring specifically to, in select embodiments of golf clubs set, each of the side club tubesmay include adjustable tube carrying strap, ball sleeve tube pocket, and tee tube pocket. Wherein, another feature of golf clubs setmay be that each of the side club tubescan be configured to be used as carry side club tube bagwhen removed from backpack, like as shown in.

Referring now specifically to, in select embodiments of golf clubs set, first side club tubemay be connected to first sideof backpackvia first C-channel connection. Wherein, first side club tubemay be configured to be slid onto first sideof backpackand locked into position on first sideof backpackvia first C-channel connection. Likewise, second side clubtube may be connected to second sideof backpackvia second C-channel connection. Wherein, second side club tubecan be configured to slide onto second sideof backpackand locked into position on second sideof backpackvia second C-channel connection. With this embodiment, as shown in, first C-channel connectionmay be configured to lock first side club tubein position on first sideof backpackwhere the first side club tubeextends below bottomof backpack. Likewise, second C-channel connectionmay be configured to lock second side club tubein position on second sideof backpackwhere second side club tubeextends below bottomof backpack. Wherein, when backpack carry bagis positioned on surface(like the ground) via first side club tubeand second side club tube, first side club tubeand second side club tubemay be configured to keep backpackelevated off of surface(like the ground). In select embodiments, first C-channel connectionmay include plurality of first locking positionsfor positioning first side club tubeat various first positionsabout first sideof backpack. Likewise, second C-channel connectionmay include plurality of second locking positionsfor positioning second side club tubeat various second positionsabout second sideof backpack. First C-channel connectionand second C-channel connectionmay include push button style locks configured for locking the sides tubesin the various positions on backpack. Wherein, first side club tubeand second side club tubemay be configured to be adjustable for adjusting the position of backpackwithin side club tubes. As best shown in, in select embodiment of golf clubs set, first sideof backpackmay include first pocketwith first zipper. First pocketwith first zippermay be configured to conceal first C-channel connectionon first sideof backpackwhen first side club tubeis removed. Likewise, second sideof backpackmay include second pocketwith second zipper. Second pocketwith second zippermay be configured to conceal second C-channel connectionon second sideof backpackwhen second side club tubeis removed. However, the disclosure is not so limited to the positioning of the C-channel connections (or other side tube connection means) on the sides of bookbag. In select embodiments, to make backpack carry bagversatile, where it could also be strapped to a golf cart, side tubescould be repositioned on backsideof backpack. As such, secondary C-channel attachments (or other attachment means) could be provided on backsideof backpackwhere the bag meets a user's back while carrying it. In select embodiments, a padded cover may be provided over these secondary C-channel attachments (or other attachments means) on backsideof backpackto encase/cover up those C-Channel attachments when not riding a cart or for when carrying. In these embodiments, backpack carry bagcould be configured as an all-around option for walking and riding a cart, where side tubeshave positioning options to fit on a cart.

As best shown in, another feature of golf clubs setmay be that side club tubescan include length. Lengthof side club tubesmay be configured for holding pluralityof user sized golf clubswith interchangeable shaftand interchangeable club head. In select embodiments, side club tubesmay be configured to have interchangeability to other side club tubesof varying length.
