Detailed Description

Complete technical specification and implementation details from the patent document.

The present application claims priority to, and the benefit of, U.S. Provisional Application No. 63/636,140, which was filed on Apr. 19, 2024, and is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.

The present invention relates generally to the field of vaping pens. More specifically, the present invention relates to an improved protection case for vaping pens, eliminating the possibility of damage to the pen, or battery which could cause harm to the user. Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices, and methods of manufacture.

By way of background, this invention relates to improvements in protection for vaping pens. Vaping pens are often transported by the user in pockets, purses, or other carry-on equipment, and as such are frequently dropped and damaged. The damage to the pen is normally cosmetic in nature, but it can also be mechanical or electrical in nature. All of these scenarios cost the user economically, however damage to the electrical system, in particular the battery, can lead to physical harm to the user.

Additionally vaping pens can be prone to leakage where the vaping fluid leaks from the pen in an unintended fashion. When this occurs, personal items such as clothing, purses, and even furniture can be damaged or stained. The device can provide an additional barrier to the fluid and may contain the leak inside the device.

Vaping pens, as designed also have an orifice for the user to inhale the vapors. As such there is often an orifice left open to the environment, which can cause clogs, or unwanted debris from accumulating in the mouthpiece. The proposed device not only protects the mouthpiece from external damage but will also enable the user to cover the mouthpiece when not in use. This covering feature will eliminate unwanted debris thus reducing the possibility of clogs from the outside environment.

Therefore, there exists a long felt need in the art for a device that enables users to protect their vaping pens from damage. In addition to cosmetic damage, vaping pens use lithium batteries which are prone to explosion and fire when damaged. There is also a long felt need in the art for a device that enables the user to cap their vaping pens in order to prevent debris from entering the mouthpiece. There is also a long felt need in the art for a vaping device that enables the user to protect the vaping pen, but also easily remove a mouthpiece cap.

In this manner, the protective vaping pen case device of the present invention accomplishes all of the forgoing objectives and provides users with a device that provides a protective case for vaping devices. The device has a case for the pen itself, with a quick release button for the cap feature.

The following presents a simplified summary in order to provide a basic understanding of some aspects of the disclosed innovation. This summary is not an extensive overview, and it is not intended to identify key/critical elements or to delineate the scope thereof. Its sole purpose is to present some general concepts in a simplified form as a prelude to the more detailed description that is presented later.

The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a protective case for vaping devices. The device is a comprised of a body portion which houses the vaping pen, and a cap portion which will cover the mouthpiece of the vaping pen. The device is designed to place a vaping pen into the housing, and then place the cap over the mouthpiece of the vaping pen and attach it to the body portion. The cap can then be removed at will for use of the vaping pen.

The device is comprised of a body portion and a cap portion each can be made from a multitude of materials but should be durable in nature and resist damage to the pen inside. Both the body portion and the cap portion are preferably cylindrical in shape with each portion having one closed end and one open end. The body portion may also contain a quick release feature for easy removal (i.e., frictional retention) of the vaping pen.

During use the vaping pen is slid into the open end of the body portion until it hits the closed end of the body portion. The cap portion is then placed over the mouthpiece of the vaping pen and attached to the base. The attachment between the cap portion and the body portion may be obtained in any method that enables the user to attach and remove the cap at will. This includes, but is not limited to threads, snaps, flip top, or magnetic forms of attachment. The user may then at any time remove the cap and use the vaping pen as desired. When the vaping pen requires recharging, the cap can be removed, and the pen simply pulled from the body portion of the device.

In another embodiment, the body portion has a quick release button which secures the vaping pen into the body portion. In this embodiment, the user will slide the vaping pen into the body portion until it contacts the quick release feature. This would be verified by pulling on the vaping pen to ensure it does not come out of the body. The attachment between the cap portion and the body portion may be obtained in any method that enables the user to attach and remove the cap at will. This includes, but is not limited to threads, snaps, flip top, or magnetic forms of attachment. The user may then at any time remove the cap and use the vaping pen as desired. When the vaping pen requires recharging, the cap can be removed, and the user can press the quick release button on the body to remove the pen.

The present invention is also comprised of a method of using the device. First a device is provided comprised of a body portion and a cap portion. The user will remove the cap from the device and place the vaping pen into the body portion until it either hits the closed end of the body portion or comes in contact with the optional quick release feature. The cap is then placed over the mouthpiece and attached to the body portion of the device. The user can then remove the cap portion and use the vaping pen as desired, replacing the cap when done. When the vaping pen is in need of charging, the cap can be removed, and the pen either pulled from the body, or in embodiments with the release feature, the button is pressed, and then the vaping pen is removed.

The innovation is now described with reference to the drawings, wherein like reference numerals are used to refer to like elements throughout.
