Technical Abstract

A two person bed sheet device for preventing a unitary sheet that prevents one person from pulling the bed sheet off of a second person includes a top panel having an upper edge, a bottom edge, and a pair of lateral edges extending between the top edge and the bottom edge. The top panel has a cutout extending into the upper edge defining a pair of spaced upper sections of the top panel. Each of a pair of flaps is coupled to a respective one of the upper sections and extends across the cutout towards another of the upper sections.

The disclosure relates to bed sheet devices and more particularly pertains to a new bed sheet device for preventing a unitary sheet that prevents one person from pulling the bed sheet off of a second person.

The prior art relates to bed sheet devices. Known bed sheets typically covering two persons within one bed are subject to being pulled upon by one the other of the two persons resulting in removal of the bed sheet from covering the other person who is not pulling on the bed sheet.

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a top panel having an upper edge, a bottom edge, and a pair of lateral edges extending between the top edge and the bottom edge. The top panel has a cutout extending into the upper edge defining a pair of spaced upper sections of the top panel. Each of a pair of flaps is coupled to a respective one of the upper sections and extends across the cutout towards another of the upper sections.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular tothereof, a new bed sheet device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeralwill be described.

As best illustrated in, the two person bed sheet devicegenerally comprises a top panelhaving an upper edge, a bottom edge, and a pair of lateral edgesextending between the upper edgeand the bottom edge. The top panelhas a cutoutextending into the upper edgedefining a pair of spaced upper sectionsof the top panel. Each of a pair of flapsis coupled to a respective one of the upper sectionsand extends across the cutouttowards another of the upper sections. Each flapof the pair of flapshas a top edgelinearly aligned with the upper edgeof the top panel. Each flaphas a length extending away from the upper edgeof the top panelwhich is greater than a length of the cutoutextending away from the upper edgeof the top panel. Each flapis coupled to the top panelalong a portion of a single respective linear edgeof the flapcorresponding to a lateral linear edgeof the cutout. Each lateral linear edgeof the cutoutmay be perpendicular to the upper edgeof the top panel. The single respective linear edgeof each flaphas a length greater than a length of the cutoutextending away from the upper edgeof the top panel. Each of the top paneland each flaphas a rectangular shape. A longitudinal length of each flapis half a length of the top panelbetween the upper edgeand the bottom edgeof the top panel. The length of each flapextending away from the upper edgeof the top panelmay be twice the length of the cutoutextending away from the upper edgeof the top panel.

In use, the top panelis positioned on a bedwhich may be a conventional mattress, futon cushion, or the like. The top paneland each flap may be a sheet, comforter, quilt, or other type of bedding. The bottom edgeis positioned at the foot of the bedand may be tucked in or left loose as desired. When positioned on the bed, the top panelis used to cover each of a pair of users. Each usercan grasp the top panelor a respective one of the flapsaligned with their side of the bedallowing for adjustment of the bed sheet devicefor comfort with no, or minimal, corresponding movement of the opposing upper sectionand flapcovering the other user.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
